The EntertainerBritain’s toy shop, The Entertainer, has announced a major recruitment drive for Christmas with more than 950 jobs available at its stores and concessions across the country.

The retailer has announced that it has started recruiting for Seasonal Sales Assistant and Night Stock Assistant positions in over 150 The Entertainer stores and in a similar number of its concessions in Tesco.

Applications for seasonal contracts are open now and vary from 8 to 20 hours per week – offering flexible shifts and extra income over the Christmas period.

Over the years, many seasonal employees have gone on to access permanent roles with the business, progressing into Store, Field and Area Manager roles, as well as Head Office positions.

Offering opportunities to experience a variety of shop floor tasks, The Entertainer’s dynamic Seasonal Sales Assistant position involves helping customers find the perfect Christmas gift, showcasing the latest toys, and creating brilliant shopping memories for children and their families.

Night Stock Assistants will play a pivotal role in ensuring the timely placement of stock on the shelves throughout the festive season. Working through the night to fill the shelves and get the store ready to trade for a busy day ahead, these roles will initially begin on a 20-hour contract, which will increase to 37.5 hours per week as Christmas draws closer.

Each role provides an opportunity to help The Entertainer deliver seasonal joy to children and families, and all team members will enjoy benefits, including a 20% discount on The Entertainer’s in-store range.

Andrew Murphy OBE, group chief executive officer of The Entertainer, said: “As Britain’s biggest toy retailer, we’re preparing for our busiest time of year – and to help us deliver the best experiences for our customers, we’re looking for a huge number of seasonal colleagues to join our team.

“There’s no better time to join our business, and we’re excited to hear from enthusiastic people who enjoy delivering great customer service and are keen to help deliver some festive magic across the Christmas period.”
