The Free From Awards move into their 17th year

Far from being unappetising and tasteless, free from food and drink is some of the most delicious and exciting food out there, and the Free From Awards is testament to this truth, with a 44% increase in gold medals awarded this year!

The Free From Awards, now entering their 17th year, welcomes hundreds of entries every year, demonstrating not only how delicious the products on the free from market are, but also the huge and growing demand and appetite for them.

No longer does anyone catering for those with “dietary requirements” of any sort this Christmas have to worry about the menu: the awards judging panel of experts from across the food and drink sector, ensure the bar set by the mainstream market is maintained, ensuring quality products, safe for the free from and allergic consumer.

‘It’s a tired and ignorant view point that free from, including gluten free, is not as delicious as ‘normal’ food – we moved away from this state around 15 years ago! And the Awards continue to demonstrate the innovation and energy that continues to go into developing free from year after year,” said Free From Awards’ CEO, Cressida Langlands.

The Free From Awards have sustained an average 8% growth year on year even through Brexit, the pandemic, and the cost of living crisis, and there are now two awards cycles covering All Year Round products and Christmas, whose 2023 winners can be found here: https://freefrom.evessiocloud.com/FFCA2023/en/page/winners

The Awards are well recognised and trusted within the industry and consumer awareness has grown considerably over the last few years. “We are committed to, and invest in, supporting, promoting & encouraging quality, innovation & execution within the free from category from large multiples, small brands and everything in between, and by doing so aid the lives of the free from consumer,” says COO, Nicki Clowes.

Entries are open 3rd January – February 16th, the Finalists are revealed in May and the Winners announced at our famously excellent Presentation Party in June.

Entry to the Free From Christmas Awards will re-open in July 2024.
