Chris Barlow, speaking about the initiative, explained: “We describe our Coming Out & Staying Out campaign by saying that ‘It takes courage to come out; it takes support and inclusion to stay out’. This launch will highlight issues surrounding diversity and inclusion by giving a forum to some of the many LGBTQ+ community groups and other ogranisations who support, advice, and safe spaces.
“Soho has played an important role in the lives of so many members of our community and we are delighted that The King of Soho Spirits, which produces gins and vodka, has joined our band of allies and supporters. We thank them and Fever Tree, which is also supporting the event, enabling guests to be served excellent G&Ts at this significant event.”
Soho is core to the community activities of the LGBT Forum and others. The King of Soho CEO, Alex Robson said: “We are at the forefront of many community initiatives in Soho and feel that this collaboration is a perfect fit for our brand, which celebrates the independent characteristics that make Soho unique, reflecting the arts, flamboyance, and hedonism of this vibrant and inclusive district.
“Ours is a challenger brand, created to celebrate the life and work of Paul Raymond who dominated the London entertainment scene from the late 1950s to the late 1980s, revolutionising the district of Soho, and helping to bring LGBTQ into the mainstream. We are pleased to have been asked to support the launch of Coming Out & Staying Out.”
The King of Soho is an independent family business which offers three expressions: The King of Soho Long Dry Gin; The King of Soho Variorum Pink Gin; and The King of Soho Copacetic Vodka.
