The Perfume Shop strengthens partnership with Veritree to make an even bigger difference on World Earth Day 2026

The Perfume Shop, the UK’s largest specialist perfume retailer, is marking World Earth Day 2026 by strengthening its ongoing partnership with Veritree to support the Double Tap for the Ocean, a social‐led campaign that uses the power of everyday engagement to give back to the planet.

Launching on World Earth Day (22nd April 2026), the initiative invites customers to simply like or share designated social content, with every interaction contributing towards the planting of mangroves in verified restoration projects in Brazil and East Africa. Vertiree will plant a mangrove for every interaction, The Perfume Shop will match this. By partnering with Veritree – a climate tech platform that helps businesses invest in tree planting and ecosystem restoration, using technology to track and verify real impact with transparency – The Perfume Shop is encouraging its community to “double tap for the ocean”, making it easier for customers to use social media for good and making their actions count for the Blue Planet this Earth Month.

This social first initiative is in addition to The Perfume Shop’s continued partnership. For every bottle recycled, The Perfume Shop pledge to plant a tree with veritree who verify the trees they are planting and where they are planted.

Karen Harris, customer director at The Perfume Shop, said: “At The Perfume Shop, we are always looking for ways to make a real and measurable difference. Strengthening our partnership with Veritree this World Earth Day allows us to bring our customers even closer to that impact. From recycling perfume bottles to supporting tree planting, and now through our Double Tap for the The Perfume Shop will match this up to £1000 donation.

Ocean campaign, we are making it easier than ever for small actions to add up to something meaningful. By turning everyday social engagement into real world restoration, we are proud to be creating simple ways for our community to support the planet and be part of a more sustainable future.”

As part of this ongoing partnership, The Perfume Shop and Veritree have a hub on their website which will educate their customers with an interactive map on where the trees are planted as well as a rolling total of how many trees have been planted.

In 2025, The Perfume Shop expanded its partnership with restorative platform Veritree by launching a new online tree planting at checkout service. Customers can now plant verified trees for just £1 with every perfume purchase, supporting ecosystem restoration and empowering local communities in Kenya.

The Perfume Shop’s ongoing mission is to make the planet a greener, more environmentally friendly place to live.

Harris added: “Our focus is always on making it simple for customers to do good in a way that fits into their everyday lives. Whether that is recycling in store, adding tree planting at checkout, or now engaging with our social content, every touchpoint is designed to feel easy and rewarding. The Double Tap for the Ocean campaign is a great example of this, turning something as familiar as liking a post into a positive action for the planet. It is about creating small moments that feel accessible but have a genuine impact, and we are excited to bring our customers along on that journey.”
