Vinca launches rosé in aluminum bottles in Booths stores across north of England

The award-winning organic wine brand expands its sustainable bottled range with its Sicilian rosé, now available in all 26 Booths supermarkets

Vinca Vinca, the award-winning 100% organic wine company, has added its Provence-style pale rosé to its trailblazing aluminium-bottled range, now available in all 26 Booths supermarkets across the north of England (RRP £9). The dry, elegant rosé joins Vinca’s existing white and red wines in 750ml aluminium bottles – a lower-carbon alternative to traditional glass that has changed the way we drink wine forever.

Made from Syrah and Nero D’avola grapes grown in Sicily’s coastal vineyards, Vinca Organic Rosé (750ml; 11%) offers delicate red fruit notes, subtle spice and a crisp, refreshing finish.

Lightweight and sustainable, Vinca’s 100% PCR (post-consumer recycled) aluminium bottles – compared with just 60% recycled content in glass – chill wine faster and have a wine-grade lining inside, keeping the wine as fresh as the day the grapes were crushed.

Producing the bottle uses four times less CO₂ than glass – and each one weighs just 68g empty, compared with an average of 450g for a glass wine bottle. Their sleek shape also means smaller cases for transporting, so 40% more wine bottles fit in each shipping container, leading to vast reductions in carbon emissions.

Switching from glass to aluminum has several positive environmental impacts, including:

  • Vinca Aluminium bottles are five times less carbon-intensive to produce than glass. (Raw production: Aluminium 0.129 kgCO₂e vs glass 1.03 kgCO₂e)

  • Vinca’s aluminium wine bottle slashes carbon emissions by nearly 50% compared to glass. (1.18 kgCO₂e vs. 2.24 kgCO₂e per bottle)

  • Vinca’s aluminium bottle has a 47% lower total carbon footprint than glass – and it’s infinitely recyclable.

  • Glass bottles generate almost double the carbon footprint of the Vinca aluminium bottle before they even hit the shelf. (Glass: 2.24 kgCO₂e vs. Vinca aluminium bottle: 1.18 kgCO₂e when filled and distributed)

  • Switching from glass to Vinca aluminium bottles cuts 1.06 kg of CO₂e per bottle – the equivalent of charging your phone 135 times. (Based on ~8g CO₂ per charge)

This space-saving design allows retailers to merchandise three Vinca bottles in the same space as two glass bottles, meaning more inventory on the shelves and increased shelf visibility and brand presence. Vinca’s printed outer boxes also combine practicality with visual appeal: their eye-catching designs make full-case displays stand out in-store, while clear labeling ensures quick and easy product identification in the stockroom. Vinca has designed a small window into the box so customers can see the aluminum bottle through the outer box.

Vinca’s co-founder Jack Green watched the arrival of wines in cans to mixed early reviews and thought the format deserved better quality wine. So he quit his job as a wine buyer and launched Vinca to bring his absolute favourite Sicilian wines to cans – and help the wine business reach net zero.

Following the runaway success of the award-winning canned wines, friends and stockists kept asking if Vinca would ever produce bottles. However, the sustainability of glass just didn’t add up. After months of experimenting, they developed their 100% recycled aluminium wine bottle.

The bottles are now available in a choice of three award-winning vegan wines:

The pale rosé: Organic Syrah & Nero D’avola (750ml; xx%)

The pale rosé is made from Syrah and Nero D’avola grapes from vineyards that show off the coastal terroir. Careful pressing allows the delicate red fruits to shine and allows the syrah to bring a slight spice to the finish. This is a lovely Provence-style pale rosé from the north-west of Sicily.

The crisp white: Organic Catarratto (750ml; 11%)

Vinca’s white wine is made from Catarratto, the grape synonymous with excellent Sicilian whites. The grapes are lightly pressed, followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks to retain all the crisp, tropical & citrus fruit notes.

The juicy red: Organic Syrah & Nero D’avola (750ml; 12%)

Vinca’s Organic Red Wine from Sicily is a bold yet beautifully balanced blend of Syrah & Nero D’avola. On the nose, rich dark berries and ripe plum mingle with hints of black pepper, violet, and a touch of smoky spice. The palate is smooth and generous, bursting with juicy blackberry and cherry, layered with subtle notes of dark chocolate and earthy spice. Silky tannins and fresh acidity give the wine a refined structure, leading to a long, elegant finish with lingering hints of spice and dark fruit. A perfect match for pizza, pasta, grilled meats, or a selection of aged cheeses.

Jack Green, the co-founder of Vinca, said: “We’re proud to bring our organic rosé to Booths in our innovative aluminium bottle. It’s a format that’s lighter on the planet and easier for modern drinkers – with all the flavour and care you’d expect from premium Sicilian wine.”

Victoria Anderson, wine buyer at Booths, said: “We champion brands that combine excellent quality with forward-thinking sustainability. Vinca’s organic rosé is a standout addition to Booths’ wine range, and the aluminium bottle makes it ideal for customers who care about great taste and lower-impact packaging.”

Vinca’s full range of organic white, red and pale rosé wines in aluminium bottles are available at Booths and with free carbon-offset shipping at vincawine.com, while the red and white bottled wines are available at 300 Tesco stores nationwide. Vinca’s canned wines are available at vincawine.com, and at Booths, Tesco, Marks & Spencers, Ocado, Wholefoods, Planet Organic, East of England Co-op, Abel & Cole and independent venues across the UK.
