The Wiltshire Distilling Company is proud to debut a collection of three premium gins created in partnership with English Heritage, the charity that cares for over 400 historic sites across the country. Each gin in the English Heritage Spirits Collection tells the story of an iconic estate, translating centuries of garden design and royal heritage into a range of remarkable spirits.
English Heritage cares for over a million objects and hundreds of historic sites in every part of England, from world-famous prehistoric sites to grand medieval castles, from Roman forts to Cold War bunkers. The charity brings the story of England to life for millions of visitors each year.
The collection features three distinct expressions, each made to reflect the character of its inspiration:
London Dry Gin – Inspired by Osborne, Isle of Wight
A refined expression of London Dry perfection, this classic gin celebrates Queen Victoria’s beloved seaside retreat. Clean, crisp, and unmistakably traditional, juniper takes centre stage supported by bright citrus and a harmonious blend of botanicals. The elegant label design weaves in regal motifs inspired by the gardens of Osborne, reflecting the splendour of Victoria’s reign.
Perfect serve: Dry Martini, 50ml English Heritage London Dry, 10ml Dry Vermouth (suggested Dolin or Noilly Prat), stirred down and served with a lemon zest.
Blackberry & Rosehip Gin – Inspired by Audley End House, Essex
Brimming with English countryside bounty, this indulgent gin layers blackberries, rosehips, hawthorns, sloes, nettles, and elderflower for an authentic hedgerow character. Bright orange peel and coriander lift the flavour profile, while classic juniper provides a crisp, balanced finish. The design captures the rural elegance
of Audley End House’s Capability Brown parkland, from sweeping vistas to the flower-filled parterre and abundant Victorian kitchen garden.
Perfect serve: Nergroni, 25ml English Heritage Blackberry and Rosehip Gin, 25ml Campari, 25ml Sweet Vermouth. Stirred down and served in rocks glass over ice and garnished with an orange peel.
Pomelo & Grapefruit Gin – Inspired by Wrest Park, Bedfordshire
This vibrant gin captures sunshine in a glass with zesty pomelo and grapefruit bursting onto the palate, complemented by juniper, coriander, lemon, orris root, and a lively kick of pink pepper. Inspired by the elegance of Wrest Park’s formal gardens, this expression honours the creativity and architectural vision of Thomas Robinson, 2nd Earl de Grey, the accomplished amateur architect who created both the French-style mansion and its stunning upper gardens in the 1830s.
Perfect serve: G&T, 50ml English Heritage Pomelo and Grapefruit Gin, topped with Mediterranean tonic, garnished with a grapefruit zest.
“English Heritage is such an impressive institution, and we have been delighted to work with them on this range of gins. We wanted each gin to feel like it is a genuine reflection of the historic sites that inspired them. Every botanical choice and flavour decision was made with real intention,” shares Jon Carson, commercial director at The Wiltshire Distilling Company. “We have one of the most advanced and sustainable distilleries in England, capable of scaling from 1,000 bottles to tens of thousands, a capability that we can bring to every partner we work with. This collection is an example of what bespoke, story-led spirit creation looks like at its best, and we’d love to bring that to any brands that are looking to create something high-quality and unique.”
“English Heritage exists to share stories of England’s history, and developing products that represent those stories with partners who are experts in their field is a brilliant way to do so,” shares Alexandra Bovey, licensing and B2B Manager at English Heritage. “Each gin in the collection has been crafted with real care and purpose, from the regal elegance of Osborne House to the wild hedgerow abundance of Audley End and the grandeur of Wrest Park. It’s wonderful to see how Wiltshire Distilling Company has taken those stories and executed them through careful botanical selection and stunning label design.
The Wiltshire Distilling Company brings exceptional sustainability credentials to this partnership. With a B Corp score of 124.4 points, the distillery ranks among the highest-scoring and most environmentally responsible distilleries in England, values that align with English Heritage’s mission to preserve and protect the nation’s historic places for future generations.
