World of Sweet launches “The Traitors” confectionery

World of SweetsWorld of Sweets launches “The Traitors” confectionery range for September, bringing play-lead sweets to the fixture and giving retailers a standout licensed opportunity built around one of the UK’s biggest entertainment phenomena.

New licensed range taps into the UK BBC TV phenomenon with interactive formats designed for at-home socialising, surprise challenges and shareable moments

Inspired by the tension, twists and social gameplay of “The Traitors”, the range has been developed to bring a stronger play element into confectionery – combining sweets with challenge-based formats, surprise flavour moments and group interaction that encourage repeat purchase and social sharing.

A confectionery range built around play

At the heart of the range is a clear “play-and-share” proposition, designed to move confectionery beyond simple snacking and into interactive treat occasions.

The range leans into:

• Surprise/reveal mechanics (including sweet vs sour-style experiences)

• Challenge play for friends and family

• At-home socialising occasions

• TikTok-style reaction moments and shareable content

• Novelty gifting and impulse appeal

This makes the range particularly relevant for retailers looking to drive incremental sales through products that offer entertainment value, not just taste.

Why “The Traitors”?

“The Traitors” continues to be a major cultural talking point, with strong mass reach and a particularly powerful multi-generational family audience profile. The brand’s format naturally lends itself to confectionery concepts built around mystery, suspense and “double dare” play, making it a strong fit for today’s experience-led and social-first consumer trends.

For retailers, this creates a timely opportunity to merchandise a licensed range that connects with:

• fans of the show

• families and friendship groups

• shoppers seeking fun, conversation-starting products

• seasonal and event-led purchasing occasions

The range

The new World of Sweets Traitors range includes:

• “The Traitors” Chews (120g) – RRP £1.50

A play-led chew format built around a “sweet or sour?” challenge concept, encouraging reaction-led sharing and repeat play.

• “The Traitors” Jellybean Spinner Game (100g) – RRP £3.00

A confectionery-and-game hybrid that brings a spin and dare experience to the category, ideal for group occasions and gifting.

• “The Traitors” Chocolate Coins (72g) – RRP £1.75

A themed impulse line with strong visual appeal and flexible merchandising opportunities.

• “The Traitors” Chocolate Shield Medallion (26g) – RRP £1.50

A novelty format suited to impulse purchase and cross-category promotional activity.

Merchandising and retail opportunity

The range is designed to work across all channels, with strong potential for secondary siting and branded FSDU activation to maximise visibility and encourage impulse conversion.

With its combination of licensed recognition, play value and social-sharing potential, “The Traitors” range offers retailers a differentiated proposition ahead of key seasonal and entertainment-led trading periods.
