ZYN turns up the intensity with Black Menthol 16.5mg

ZYNPhilip Morris Limited (PML), the affiliate of Philip Morris International (PMI) in the UK and Ireland, has launched ZYN Black Menthol 16.5mg, the newest flavour of the highest-strength nicotine pouch in the ZYN range.

The latest addition to ZYN’s highest-strength collection, Black Menthol 16.5mg responds to growing consumer demand for stronger pouches. Giving retailers more choice for experienced pouch users, Black Menthol delivers a distinct taste of peppermint with hints of eucalyptus, for an intense cooling sensation in by far the UK’s largest nicotine pouch flavour segment, the mint-flavoured pouches, representing 46% of total category volume.

PML has expanded the ZYN range at both ends of the strength spectrum to better meet the varied preferences of existing adult nicotine users. From ZYN X-Low at 1.5mg, the lowest-strength variant in the range, to the 16.5mg for seasoned pouch users seeking a higher-strength option, ZYN is uniquely positioned to offer greater choice.

Nicotine Pouches are now used by 1 in 5 UK legal-age nicotine users, and ZYN is the #1 brand for awareness amongst the 18-29 demographic. With a large pipeline of new products, ZYN continues to give retailers the support they need in key pouch segments.

Nearly half (47%) of legal-aged nicotine pouch users try a new pouch at least monthly. Given the evident rise in the pull towards the ZYN brand – with ZYN’s search demand increasing by 19pp against other pouch brands – launching a new product with the interest in a new flavour and strength combination looks to consolidate further growth in sales for both PML and retailers.

Dor Matot, head of ZYN UK and Ireland at PML, said: “Adult pouch users are increasingly looking for variety, in both flavour and strength, and we want ZYN’s range to reflect that. Black Menthol 16.5mg gives experienced users a new option in the UK’s most popular flavour segment, and gives retailers another way to meet that demand. With the Vaping Products Duty now in place, we expect more adult nicotine users to explore alternatives, and a broad, growing range means there’s a ZYN product to suit their preferences.”

ZYN Black Menthol 16.5mg is now available to stock via the PMI Open platform, and in Wholesale from the 15th of October, with Booker Wholesalers following shortly after, by the end of October.
