Veuve Clicquot is looking for the next business leaders and founders to follow in the footsteps of the trailblazing Madame Clicquot as nominations open for the 2027 Bold Woman Awards.

Celebrating its 55th year, the prestigious awards are the longest-running international accolades of their kind, continuing a legacy that began over 200 years ago with a woman who dared to defy expectations. In 1805, at just 27 years old, Madame Clicquot took the reins of her husband’s champagne house. At a time when women could not enter most professions, she courageously stepped into the world of business, transforming the champagne house into one of the most iconic producers and brands in the world. Her pioneering spirit lives on in the women honoured by the Bold Woman Awards, who, like Madame Clicquot, lead with conviction and creativity and shape the world around them.

The 2026 Bold Woman Award winner, Smruti Sriram, OBE, CEO of Bags of Ethics by Supreme Creations was recognised for her leadership and impact as a woman in sustainable business and responsible manufacturing, Most notably for her role in scaling Supreme Creations into a globally recognised, vertically integrated supplier of reusable merchandise and sustainable packaging.

Alisha Fredriksson, CEO and co-founder of Seabound, was awarded the Bold Future Award by Veuve Clicquot. The Future Award celebrates female entrepreneurs whose businesses are shaping the future, and Fredriksson was honoured for tackling one of the most complex challenges in global industry; reducing emissions in the shipping sector.

Other previous winners include, Dame Julia Hoggett DBE, CEO of the London Stock Exchange, Professor Sarah Gilbert, who was recognised for leading the development of the University of Oxford’s COVID-19 vaccine; and Anne Pitcher, CEO of Selfridges Group.

The two awards open to nominations are:

Bold Woman Award

This award honours women who have achieved significant organisational success under their leadership, and in their personal endeavours, while serving as an inspiration to others. It is open to female founders and leaders of all types of organisations, private, charity, and not-for-profit, who have held their roles for more than three years.

Bold Future Award

Celebrating up and coming entrepreneurs the Bold Future Award is open to innovative and ambitious female founders of organisations established fewer than five years ago. Recognising the importance of social responsibility in business, nominees in both categories must show clear evidence of positive social, ethical, or environmental impact.

Thomas Mulliez, president of Veuve Clicquot, commented:  “As we celebrate the 55th year of the Veuve Clicquot Bold Woman Awards in the UK, we reflect on more than two centuries of pioneering spirit, a legacy that began with Madame Clicquot herself, who dared to lead in a world that gave women no place to do so.

We are delighted to open the search for the extraordinary businesswomen who could be the winners of the 2027 Bold Woman Awards. We look forward to receiving this year’s nominees; women who lead with conviction, inspire other women, and help shape the world around them.”

Cassandra Stavrou, Founder of PROPER SNACKS, and Bold Future Award winner from 2016 added: “Winning the Veuve Clicquot Bold Future Award came during the hustle years and created a rare moment of recognition for the team, for what we were building. It puts ambitious founders on the radar and lets them know early on that they’re onto something.”

The call for nominations for the Veuve Clicquot Bold Woman Award and Bold Future Award acts as the starting point in the search for the best female business talent in the UK. The deadline to enter is the 30th September and two exceptional women will be revealed as the winners at a prestigious event in Spring 2027.

Future winners of the awards will join Veuve Clicquot’s Bold Open Database, the first global, open database, aimed to bring together female entrepreneurs worldwide. Designed with a scientific, economic and social approach, the Bold Open Database brings visibility to a previously unseen group, a source of data surrounding female entrepreneurs and their businesses for investors, journalists and fellow founders.
