Silverburn has announced a new leadership team as long-serving General Manager David Pierotti retires after nearly 20 years at the helm of Scotland’s leading retail and leisure destination.

Taking over the role of General Manager is current Deputy General Manager Diarmuid Donohoe, who has worked alongside Pierotti at Silverburn for the past 12 years. Donohoe has been closely involved in the centre’s ongoing evolution and recent growth for over a decade.

Alongside Donohoe’s appointment, Clare Livingston, Silverburn’s Marketing and Placemaking Manager, has been promoted to Deputy General Manager while continuing to lead the centre’s marketing and placemaking strategy.

Pierotti, retiring following a retail career spanning more than four decades, joined Silverburn when the centre first opened in 2007 and has played a central role in establishing it as Scotland’s leading retail and leisure destination.

The leadership transition follows a record-breaking year for Silverburn in 2025, achieved under the trio’s leadership. The team welcomed 16.5 million guests, marking 2025 as its busiest year to date and secured national recognition as it was named Glasgow’s Best Performing Large Business at the Glasgow Business Awards, named as ‘Retail Destination of the Year’ at the 2025 SCEPTRE Awards, awarded the ‘Period Dignity’ accolade at the ‘Loo of the Year’ awards,  and also picked up ‘Asset Management Initiative of the Year’ at the REVO Awards.

Diarmuid Donohoe, newly appointed general manager, said: “Silverburn is in a fantastic position, with record footfall, exciting brands joining the line-up and an outstanding centre management team. I am excited to take the role of General Manager and look forward to building on the strong foundations David has created as we continue to evolve the destination for our guests, retailers and the wider Glasgow community.  Having joined Silverburn 12 years ago during its £20m leisure extension, I have played an integral role in its growth and evolution and look forward to shaping its next phase of growth.”

Clare Livingston, newly appointed deputy general manager, added: “Silverburn is an incredible success story and I’m very proud to be part of the amazing team that David has built over the years. As David heads off on his well-earned retirement, I’m delighted to enter this new chapter as Deputy General Manager and I’m really looking forward to working with Diarmuid and the wider team to continue to build on Silverburn’s success story.”

David Pierotti, outgoing general manager at Silverburn, said: “It has been an enormous privilege to be part of Silverburn’s journey from day one and to work with such an exceptional team over the past two decades. Seeing the centre grow into Scotland’s leading retail and leisure destination, while remaining such an important part of the local community, has been the highlight of my career. I am incredibly proud of what the team has achieved together, and I am delighted to be handing over to Diarmuid and Clare, who both know the business, the retailers and the community inside out.”

Since 2022, under the ownership of Eurofund and Henderson Park, Silverburn has welcomed more than 30 new brands including the largest Zara in Scotland and Glasgow’s first H beauty, and will soon welcome Glasgow’s first Sephora, amongst other exciting names to arrive in 2026 and beyond.
