AsdaAsdaAs popularity of Matcha continues to boom amongst Gen Z, with a huge presence on TikTok, the average green drink can set one back around £4.50 at popular high street coffee shops. With ‘iced matcha’ typically costing more than its hot equivalent, prices of larger sizes and selections in London-based stores often hit the £5.50 – £6.00 mark .

Saving customers cups of money and queuing time, Asda is serving summer with its delicious home editions for the fraction of the price.

Landing in stores from Monday the 4th of May, new products include the Asda Vanilla Flavour Matcha Latte (£1.70/8 servings), Asda Blueberry Flavour Matcha Latte (£1.70/8 servings), Asda Vanilla Flavour Syrup (£2.50/250ml/20 servings) and more summer must-haves for the drinks cupboard.

Allowing customers to indulge in a coffee shop experience from the comfort of home or on the go, Asda’s new Matcha Latte is available in two social-trending flavours, Vanilla & Blueberry. Containing 8 instant sachets for just £1.70, customers just have to add water and ice for the perfect serve, costing just 21p a drink!

Proving to be a hit already with searches for ‘Matcha’ up 381% on Asda.com, the products have been spotted on the shelves of select stores by eagle-eyed shoppers, @Libbiemayfitzpatrick on TikTok has over 54,000 views and almost 2,000 likes on a video of Asda’s Matcha, saying “Oh, my, god. They’ve got the blueberry one. How good does that look?”.

Other reactions under a post by @newfoodsuk on Instagram, with over 1,500 likes say: “ahahh gonna have to try!!”, “matcha queen xo”, “get me to Asda rn” and “we’re going to Asda tomorrow”.

Also landing as part of the summer drink lines and helping ‘the girlies’ DIY their perfect matcha blend are Asda’s Syrups. The new Asda Vanilla Flavour Syrup (£2.00/250ml/20 servings), a popular flavour addition to matcha lattes, can be added to hot or cold drinks as a tasty, luxurious extra.

Asda’s new drink lines also include White Mocha Flavour Frappe (£2.00), Salted Caramel Flavour Dusting (£0.97p), Hazelnut Flavour Syrup (£2.50) and more. Available in stores now and online at Asda.com from Monday 4th May.
