Co-op opens the doors of its newest store today (Friday, 21 August) welcoming members and customers of the community into their new Fulham Palace Road Co-op.

The brand new store opens between 7am-11pm daily, and at nearly 3,000 sq ft conveniently offers Co-op’s extensive range and choice of fresh and healthy products, meal ideas, food to go, Fairtrade products; bakery, award winning chilled beers and wines, world foods and Costa coffee – food for every moment, now, or for later.

Situated close to Charing Cross Hospital, the store – located at108-114 Fulham Palace Road (W6 9PL) – creates 15 new jobs and also includes a range of added services to make everyday life easier for busy consumers and commuters, including payment services via PayPoint and parcel collection through DPD.

The online home delivery of groceries is offered via Co-op’s own online shop – shop.coop.co.uk – and through Deliveroo, Uber Eats and Just Eat, with orders picked fresh in the local store and delivered quickly and conveniently in the community.

There are offers, deals and promotions throughout the store – which currently includes two stone baked pizzas and a tub of Ben and Jerry’s for just £5 for members*.

Member price savings create additional value for Co-op members who can save more with lower prices on the everyday essential products shoppers buy most.

Sajid Ashraf, Co-op’s area operations manager, said: “We are delighted to launch Co-op’s newest store – which looks fantastic as we open the doors today and welcome the community as they pop into their new Co-op. We invest to create local stores which are more than just a shop, they are a hub contributing to local life and meeting the needs of communities, with a focus on offering quality products, value and choice that can be enjoyed by everyone. There are great deals and promotions throughout the store, and a range of added services to make everyday life easier for the community.

“We’re proud to have the opportunity to serve Fulham Palace Road, and look forward to welcoming the community into their new Co-op. We’re here to contribute to local life and conveniently serve and support the community.”

Soft plastic recycling is available so shoppers can return and recycle materials that are often not universally accepted via household kerbside recycling, such as crisp packets and bread bags, lids from ready meals, biscuit wrappers and, pet food pouches.

Committed to backing British agriculture, all of Co-op’s own meat, poultry and dairy is 100% British – including in its pies, ready meals and sandwiches.

Fairtrade products are available across the store supporting farmers, workers and their communities around the world who grow and produce products and ingredients for Co-op.

With its history dating back more than 180 years, Co-op is one of the world’s largest consumer-owned co-operatives. Co-op exists to create value for its membership and communities, its more than 7 million members own the business and play an intrinsic part in the governance of the organisation.
