The next big skincare trend isn’t on your face, it’s in your hands

As consumers continue to invest in advanced facial skincare, a new beauty retail category is having its moment: hand care. Once considered an afterthought, hands are now being recognised as a key indicator of skin health, with demand for targeted, high-performance formulas continuing to grow.

With winter approaching, there’s no better time to spotlight the hand creams set to become beauty bag essentials.

Shalin Balasuriya, co-founder of Spa Ceylon, wellness expert and certified sound healer, comments on why hands have become a focal point: “It comes down to visibility – and what that visibility reveals.

Hands are consistently exposed yet historically overlooked in skincare routines. As consumers have become more invested in facial skincare, the contrast is becoming harder to ignore. In many cases, hands are one of the first areas where signs of ageing appear – through changes in texture, tone and overall skin quality – making that gap even more noticeable.

There’s also a functional reality. Frequent washing, sanitising, and environmental exposure weaken the skin barrier over time, accelerating visible damage.

What’s changing now is awareness. Hands are no longer treated as an afterthought, but as an extension of overall skin health – requiring the same level of care, consistency, and formulation as the face.”

To celebrate the rise of hand care, we’ve rounded up our winter must-haves.

Spa Ceylon Cardamom Rose Intensive Hand Cream, Tal MED Hand Cream Repair and Oriflame Love Potion Cherry On Top Hand Cream. All feature nourishing formulas designed to restore hydration, protect the skin barrier, and keep hands looking their best throughout the colder months.
