Albert BartlettAlbert Bartlett, the UK’s leading potato producer, has further reinforced its commitment to tackling food insecurity with a significant delivery of 25 trucks, carrying 24 tonnes per truck, of fresh potatoes to food redistribution charity FareShare.

This landmark delivery over the past 5 weeks is the largest shipment of potatoes Albert Bartlett has provided to FareShare to date. This will help create the equivalent of over 1.4 million nutritious meals* for individuals and families in need across the country. By working closely with FareShare, Albert Bartlett continues to play a vital role in supporting communities and ensuring that surplus food reaches those who need it most.

“We are proud to be recognised as one of FareShare’s leading food partners,” said John Heginbottom, Sales Director at Albert Bartlett. “This special delivery is a testament to our ongoing partnership and our shared mission to reduce food waste and fight hunger. We know the positive impact that nutritious, fresh produce can have for families, and we are delighted that this delivery will help provide thousands of healthy meals to people facing hardship.”

FareShare will distribute the potatoes to its nationwide network of over 8,000 charities and community groups, including schools, community centres, refuges, homelessness shelters and faith groups. Through the FareShare network, each delivery will reach communities where it will make the greatest difference.

Emma Brown, Head of Fresh Produce said: “We are enormously grateful to Albert Bartlett for their ongoing support for FareShare. Their surplus potatoes will be redistributed across our network of charities and community groups and make a valuable contribution to getting good food to people in need, rather than letting it go to waste. Regular supplies of potatoes enable these groups to create hearty, nourishing meals for the people they support, alongside providing other vital services. At a time when demand for food support is higher than ever, this exceptional delivery from Albert Bartlett will make a huge difference.

Albert Bartlett’s partnership with FareShare showcases the company’s dedication to social responsibility and community wellbeing. As one of FareShare’s leading food partners, Albert Bartlett is committed to making a meaningful difference, one potato at a time.
