AI Adoption Accelerator launched to power innovation for UK retail SMEs

Galvia AI, a leading international artificial intelligence company, has announced its UK expansion with a new Manchester office and plans to help retail SMEs across the UK transform how they operate, grow and compete using connected intelligence.

Headquartered in Galway, Ireland, Galvia will base its UK operations at the Turing Innovation Catalyst (TIC), within Sister – Manchester’s £1.7bn science and technology innovation district.

Galvia’s secure, scalable AI platform delivers measurable business impact within weeks, helping independent and multi-site operators across the UK’s retail sector connect their data, uncover insights that predict and prompt, and drive smarter, faster decision-making.

At the heart of Galvia’s UK strategy is the Galvia AI Adoption Accelerator, a 5-week programme launching in September in partnership with the Turing Innovation Catalyst (TIC) and law firm Addleshaw Goddard. It’s designed to give retail SME leaders a clear understanding of what to do with their data and a strategic plan of how to integrate AI into their business.

John Clancy, CEO and Founder of Galvia AI, said: “This accelerator is about making AI accessible. Retailers are under immense pressure to make every decision count, from pricing and stock management to campaign planning and workforce allocation. But too often, their data is scattered across ePOS systems, stock reports, loyalty platforms and spreadsheets, making it hard to act with confidence or speed.

“Galvia changes that. We unify your data and turn it into real-time prompts, forecasts, and insights that everyone, from head office to store managers, can use. Our accelerator makes AI practical, fast, and accessible for growing retailers who want to do more with what they already have.”

The Accelerator is central to Galvia’s mission to make AI work for all, providing retail SMEs with a fast, practical route to leveraging their data and driving growth through innovation.

Galvia also intends to partner with SME technology providers in retail to apply the benefits of AI to their platforms.

“AI isn’t just for big-budget tech businesses. It can and should make a real, tangible difference for SMEs, which are the core of the economy,” added John Clancy. “Together with our partners, we’re very proud to bring our accelerator programme to the UK. It’s already proven highly successful in Ireland, equipping participants with the knowledge and tools to stay ahead of industry changes and maintain a competitive edge.

“We bring seven years of real-world experience in AI – and in AI years, that’s a lifetime. We’ve worked with organisations and data sets of all sizes to make AI deliver real strategic value.”

Galvia is already in use with multi-location retailers like Petstop, enabling their teams to react in real-time to sales shifts, stock imbalances, and customer engagement signals. Galvia’s AI prompts and dashboards deliver:

  • One unified view of live KPIs by store, region, product, or channel
  • Real-time alerts on stockouts, returns, and margin trends
  • Predictive insights to shape promotions, staffing, and inventory planning
  • Smart nudges like:
    • “Sales of Product X are slowing in Leeds – launch local offer”
    • “Returns rising on Item Y – adjust marketing”
    • “Weekend footfall spike forecast – review staffing levels”

Anthony Gallagher, CEO of Petstop, said: “Before Galvia, our store decisions were often based on gut instinct or end-of-week reports. Now we’re making smarter moves every day with AI-driven prompts helping us act faster and boost efficiency.”

The first cohort of the Galvia AI Accelerator will launch in September 2025. Participants will receive hands-on support to build and apply AI tools using their own business data, with a focus on practical, day-to-day applications.

Ahead of this, Galvia will also host a free AI Discovery Session on 10th July at TIC. Retail SMEs interested in exploring how AI can drive the growth of their business and understand more about the AI Adoption Accelerator can attend a free AI Discovery Workshop 10th July at TIC. Limited spaces available please contact brian@galvia.ai to book or learn more.
