DeliverooIndependent British artist AJ Tracey has teamed up with delivery app Deliveroo to launch his forthcoming album to fans, live and direct to doorsteps; an industry first.

The record titled “Don’t Die Before You’re Dead” launches on 13th June and physical copies will be available in both vinyl and CD via ‘AJ Tracey’s Record Shop’ on the delivery app in cities across the UK.

With delivery in as little as 20 minutes, AJ Tracey fans in London, Manchester, Brighton, Bristol, Glasgow, Leeds, Nottingham and Cambridge will be able to benefit from the collaboration, which marks the first time a musician has launched a record on a delivery app.

It comes following a resurgence in popularity for CD and especially vinyl among music fans, with the Digital Entertainment and Retail Association (ERA) revealing the market for vinyl records grew by 10.5% last year*, with Gen Z’s embracing the nostalgia of music players and collectable discs.

Swapping mics for bikes, in new images released today, AJ Tracey is seen donning Deliveroo rider kit as he prepares to deliver copies of his new album to superfans in the cities of London and Manchester.

AJ Tracey said: “I’m always looking for new ways to connect with my fans, so I had an idea to team up with Deliveroo to drop my new album, and we’ve managed to make it happen. As someone born and raised in the UK, it’s wicked to be partnering with a brand that’s such a day-to-day part of the culture. I wanted to give my supporters a new way to experience music and food together – the best of both.”

Suzy McClintock, VP of new verticals at Deliveroo, said: “As a company that started right here in the UK, we’re proud to celebrate the homegrown talent that shapes the rich diversity of British culture. That’s why we couldn’t be more excited to partner with one of the country’s most dynamic music artists, AJ Tracey, to launch his new record on our app. This collaboration brings together two things Deliveroo customers are passionate about — great food and great music — in a way that’s never been done before.”

To be in with a chance of having AJ Tracey deliver his album to six lucky fans, they simply need to register their interest on this website (www.ajtracey.co.uk/deliveroo/) before 12th June.

Having already kicked off his UK tour, the ‘Ladbroke Grove’ singer prepares for a busy summer of appearances at sold-out music festivals across the UK, including a main stage slot at Glastonbury Festival. As part of AJ’s tour, fans of the artist have been enjoying food drops whilst queuing for the concerts, with free Wingstop chicken being given out to the crowds by a group of DeliverCrew ‘riders’.

AJ Tracey’s ‘Don’t Die Before You’re Dead’ is available on Deliveroo in Bristol, Brighton, London, and Manchester from 13th June, priced at £22 for a standard vinyl, £35 for a special edition vinyl, or £10 for a CD, excluding delivery and service fees. Delivery times may vary, please see the app or website for details. While limited stocks last. Search for ‘AJ Tracey’s Record Shop’ in the app here or online.
