The Original Red Rooster has become synonymous with the Albert Bartlett brand, and the red skinned all-rounder has a loyal following with home cooks and chefs across the UK. Made famous by high-profile advertising campaigns, the iconic Red Rooster has built its reputation on fantastic taste, versatility and consistency.
Now, under what the brand are stating as a ‘Limited Edition’, the famous Albert Bartlett Red Rooster has been joined on the shelves of Sainsbury’s by the all-new Albert Bartlett White Rooster. Just like its famous stablemate, the White Rooster has a fantastic traditional potato taste and texture, offering real all-round performance in the kitchen. A couple of chef’s who undoubtably ‘know their Rooster’, have given White Rooster their seal of approval;
Stevie McLaughlin, head chef at two Michelin-starred restaurant Andrew Fairle at Gleneagles, said: “I really didn’t know what to expect from trying these for the first time, but what I did know was they were going to be good! We loved the flavour and texture of the White Rooster and we prepared them in various ways. The standout and what we all loved was the white rooster wedges, skin on, golden and crispy on the outside, light and fluffy in the middle. Delish!!!”
Michel Roux added: “I have been a fan of Albert Bartlett potatoes for over twenty years and always looked forward to trying out a new variety. After loving their famous Red Roosters for so long, I could not wait to sample the newly released White Rooster variety and suffice to say that they did not disappoint in both texture and taste. Another great product that I look forward to using in both private and professional settings.”
Thomas McInally, senior brand manager at Albert Bartlett, added: “Our Albert Bartlett Red Rooster has an extremely loyal customer base, however we have always known that some consumers simply won’t buy red potatoes, the addition of White Rooster therefore fits perfectly into the range between the iconic Red Rooster and the modern favourite Butter Gold which has a yellow skin and flesh. White Rooster has a taste and usage profile that is extremely similar to Red Rooster, so roast, mash, bake or wedge it will delight every time. This limited-edition run will let us hear from customers what they think of White Rooster, and we are excited to see the response.”
White Rooster is a natural variant of the much-loved Red Rooster and brings the same delicious flavour and versatility to the table. Its light, fluffy texture and smooth white skin make it a brilliant choice for all your favourite dishes — from perfect roasties and creamy mash to golden chips. A true kitchen all-rounder, White Rooster is an excellent alternative to the traditional Maris Piper, offering great results and taste every time
The White Rooster joins Albert Bartlett’s award-winning range including Red Rooster, Butter Gold and Jersey Royal, continuing the brand’s commitment to innovation, taste, and sustainable British farming.
