Aldi brings back award-winning Veuve Monsigny Premier Cru Champagne, ahead of Global Champagne Day

Veuve Monsigny Premier Cru ChampagneChampagne lovers, mark your calendars. Aldi has brought back its multi-award-winning Veuve Monsigny Premier Cru Champagne (£22.99, 75cl) ahead of Global Champagne Day (25th October).

Aldi’s Premier Cru has a reputation for outshining big-name brands, earning a Best Buy title in Which? Best Champagne for Christmas in 2024 and awarded Best Champagne in the prestigious Good Housekeeping taste test.

And while the UK Champagne market is losing its sparkle, with sales at a 25-year low, Aldi is bucking the trend as shoppers swap overpriced labels for world-class quality at unbeatable value.

Julie Ashfield, chief commercial officer at Aldi UK, said: “Shoppers want exceptional quality without the luxury price tag. Our Veuve Monsigny Premier Cru offers exactly that, and its return couldn’t be better timed for Global Champagne Day.”

The Aldi effect is clear: while the wider Champagne market is in decline, Aldi’s sales are soaring. Its Nicolas de Montbart Champagne (£13.99) has seen an increase in sales year on year. It’s proof that Brits don’t need to spend big when buying Champagne – and that great value is more in demand than ever.

A consistent fan favourite, the Veuve Monsigny Premier Cru offers a light, fresh style with delicate notes of lemon, flowers and toasted nuts. This multi-award-winning Champagne has been awarded GOLD in the Decanter World Wine Awards and won medals in Drinks Business Champagne Masters – making it the perfect bottle to toast any celebration.

Aldi’s wider Champagne line-up, available nationwide ahead of Global Champagne Day, includes Nicolas De Montbart Champagne (£13.99, 75cl), an elegant, traditional Champagne that blends Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. It presents delightful fruit and floral notes, perfect as an aperitif or with canapés.

For those seeking a non-alcoholic fizz, Aldi’s popular Zerozecco (£2.99, 75cl) is a great choice. A winner at the People’s Choice Drink Awards, it delivers well-balanced acidity and complexity with citrusy flavours for a guilt-free bubbly experience.

Aldi’s Veuve Monsigny Premier Cru is available in stores from 13th October. Aldi’s range of Champagne is available in stores nationwide.
