Aldi Scotland shoppers say “I do” to once in a lifetime wedding shoot

Aldi Scotland is offering one lucky couple exclusive after-hours access to the aisles in one of its stores for a full wedding photoshoot, in partnership with Scottish photographer Conor McEwan.

The campaign, which is designed to celebrate everyday moments of love, follows the highly anticipated, and extravagant wedding celebrations of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.

While the two mega-stars tied the knot in front of 1,000 friends, family and celebrities at Madison Square Garden in New York, Aldi is putting the spotlight on the regular lives of two people in love.

The popular supermarket recognises that it is the smallest, most ordinary moments that have the biggest impact on relationships, from shared shopping trips to quiet dinners at home.

The unique initiative also taps into a growing trend among modern couples who are moving away from traditional, highly curated wedding settings in favour of more relaxed, candid and documentary-style photography.

Aldi Scotland has partnered with popular Scottish photographer Conor McEwan, who has captured hundreds of couples on their wedding day.

He said: “Increasingly, everyday locations, from fast food restaurants to petrol stations, are becoming the unexpected backdrops for authentic love stories, reflecting a shift towards humour and individuality.

“While grand gestures and once-in-a-lifetime celebrations have their place, true love is found in the everyday moments. It’s the smiles you share while running errands, and the memories you make over a simple dinner at home.

“There is something genuinely moving about a couple choosing a supermarket aisle over a stately home. The trolleys, the lighting, the Specialbuys displays in the background – it all tells a real story about how they actually live. That is what great wedding photography should do.”

To celebrate love in these everyday moments, Aldi Scotland is opening applications from 6 July timed to coincide with the peak summer wedding season. To enter, couples simply need to share their favourite moment of everyday love.

The winning couple will receive exclusive after-hours access to a selected Aldi store, transformed into a one-of-a-kind wedding photoshoot location, creating a truly unique backdrop to capture their love story.

Tom Brearey, regional managing director at Aldi Scotland, said: “Not every love story needs Adam Sandler to officiate their wedding. Some of the most authentic moments happen during the weekly shop, whether it’s picking out the ingredients for the weekday dinner, choosing a bottle of wine to enjoy together, or even squabbling over who drives the trolley.

“Our stores are part of people’s everyday lives, and we wanted to give couples the chance to bring this story to life on their wedding day. It is our wedding gift to our shoppers – a fun, real and authentic way to celebrate love in a uniquely Aldi way.”
