
Asda is throwing its support behind West Country suppliers with almost 60 new local lines arriving in stores this summer.
An incredible 50 new local products are on shelves now across the region, with another eight to follow in the weeks ahead.
Among the first wave of West Country brands to arrive in stores are plant-based chocolate company Buttermilk, cider specialists Sandford Orchards and Jolly’s Drinks.
Confectioners The Candy Company launch two shortbread lines and two fudge gift packs, while six new products arrive from Cornwall’s Prima Bakeries and award-winning Furniss of Cornwall brings eight products to Asda stores across the South West.
Cornish Tea and Coffee is also launching, with two more brands – Langage Farm and Keltek Brewery– coming onboard with South West Asda stores through the summer.
Founder and managing director Duncan Bond at Cornish Tea and Coffee, said: “We’ve spent over a decade crafting exceptional tea and coffee with plenty of Cornish character, so being able to share that with even more customers across the region is something we’re incredibly proud of.
“It’s brilliant to see Asda championing local brands and recognising the value that regional producers bring to shoppers, helping customers discover products that are made with passion, provenance and a real sense of place.”
Drinks brand Jolly’s is bringing five new lines to Asda stores. Managing Director Cheryl Ingram said: “Launching in Asda this summer is incredibly exciting for Jolly’s. Our range of heritage drinks offer refreshing flavours with a modern twist, and we’re excited that even more shoppers now be able to enjoy the taste of Jolly’s. We’re proud to be working with a retailer that champions local producers.”
Award-winning bakery Furniss of Cornwall is bringing eight products to Asda stores across the South West, including its Savoury Biscuits with West Country Cheddar.
Teoni, head of sales & marketing, said: “We are delighted that more Asda customers across the South West will be able to enjoy our award-winning Cornish biscuits.
“Supporting local sourcing helps businesses like ours continue to invest in our bakery, our people and the local economy, and we are excited for customers to discover our latest range.”
More product lines are also launching from long-standing local supply partners Cornish Sea Salt, Rattler Cornish Cider and Southwestern Distillery, reinforcing Asda’s commitment to local food and drinks producers.
