KNOOPS

KNOOPS is the British brand revolutionising a fresh approach to chocolate drinks. Founded in 2013 by Jens Knoop in Rye, East Sussex, the brand focuses on quality, provenance, and complete customisation, allowing customers to craft bespoke chocolate-based drinks that suit their palate, mood, or moment.

What sets KNOOPS apart is its incredible selection of 20 different chocolates, ranging from a creamy 28% White to an intense 100% Extra Dark from the Philippines, each with distinct flavour notes. It’s almost like a fine wine experience but in the world of chocolate – for example, the 73% Single Origin from the Philippines offers citrus, honey, and caramel notes, while the 39% Single Origin from Ecuador delivers nougat and vanilla tones. And for those looking for plant-based options, any drink made with 54% chocolate or above can be made vegan.
Known for its premium, expertly crafted chocolate drinks. The brand has already established 25 stores in the UK (with its latest one opened today, Friday 14th March in Norwich and with further openings planned from Aberdeen to Plymouth) and plans to expand to 40 by the end of 2025, while also looking to launch in key global markets beyond UAE, where the brand already has a store in Dubai.
The brand has seen an absolute growth rate for the last three years to March 2024 of over 870% and a compounded annual growth rate of 113%, becoming more than just a café operator, by creating a new category of expertly crafted chocolate drinks and is growing its sales across stores and also in the ‘KNOOPS At Home’ market for its flakes. KNOOPS’ revenue growth of 79% YTD is on track to deliver the business plan for year ending March 2025 with annual UK revenue circa £16m.
As a testament of the incredible growth the brand is seeing, recently KNOOPS was ranked in the Financial Times FT1000: Europe’s Fastest Growing Companies 2025.
KNOOPS recently welcomed Andrew Gerrie, Lush co-founder and former chairman of Hotel Chocolat, and Julian Metcalfe, co-founder of Pret a Manger and founder of Itsu to join the board to provides KNOOPS with further expertise as it grows into an international operation.
Through its app, online store, and in-store experiences, KNOOPS empowers chocolate lovers to craft their own drinks in-store or at home, continuing to make every chocolate drink experience unique and memorable.
