Clarks returns to Paris Men’s Fashion Week with a packed programme and brand-new drops. Invite-only, the exclusive showcase takes place in a private concept space in the fashion capital’s cultural hub, Marais, from 16th to 20th January 2024. Clarks brings together the industry’s most influential talent across fashion, lifestyle and media, alongside dedicated industry friends of the brand – setting the tone for an exciting year.
Guests enjoy a first look at the Clarks and Clarks Originals Autumn/Winter 2024 collections, with a deep dive into stories, campaigns and special collaborations. The showcase highlight is the AW24 capsule codesigned with Martine Rose, Winner of the Menswear Designer of the Year 2023 at the British Fashion Awards.
In a nod to its upcoming Fall 24 campaign ‘Clarks and Tokyo’, which explores the deep links between the brand and the Japanese capital, Clarks presents a Tokyo concept bar, inspired by the vibrant streets of Golden Gai. Here, guests can enjoy delicious Japanese drinks and play fun board games for a truly immersive Tokyo experience.
Completing the showcase is another collaborative experience with French artist Franck Pellegrino. Officially launching the highly coveted collaboration teased in 2023, the special activation offers guests an exclusive taste of the capsule’s reworked Wallabee style in a dedicated Franck room – emblematic of Clarks unique fusion of fashion and culture.
Chief Marketing & Digital Officer Tara comments: “Paris Men’s Fashion Week is incredibly special for Clarks. We’ve enjoyed great successes in previous seasons bringing our cultural and commercial universes together. This time we are back with a bang, teasing our new Guest Creator Martine Rose’s second Clarks collection as well as the very best of Clarks and Clarks Originals AW24 ranges.”
Clarks Managing Director EMEA Olivier Motteau adds: “We’re very delighted to present Clarks at Paris Men’s Fashion Week – it’s an honour to showcase our AW24 collection to buyers from the best accounts around the world in the heart of Paris.”
MARTINE ROSE
Following the launch of ‘Coming Up Roses’, Martine Rose’s debut SS24 collection with Clarks as their first guest Creative Director, the brand is proud to present an exclusive look at the next evolution of the Martine Rose X Clarks partnership for AW24.
Underpinned by Martine’s ethos of ‘making the ordinary extraordinary’, Art Director and Stylist Tamara Rothstein and noted set designer Polly Philp bring everyday lived experiences into a conceptual Clarks Paris Fashion Week ‘Coming Up Roses’ showroom space.
The AW24 showroom concept draws on a ’90s corporate aesthetic, with bespoke installations from Polly Philp, Simon Gray, and Nasir Mazhar. The showroom design puts a playful spin on office furniture and iconic Clark’s feet measuring stations – transporting visitors into the distinctive, visionary world of ‘Coming Up Roses’ season 2.
Staying true to the DNA of the Martine Rose X Clarks partnership – shoes so comfortable you’ll never want to take them off – the AW24 collection evolves Martine’s directional design code into statement, architectural dress and utility silhouettes. Pumping up the volume on proportions, this luxe line-up stars new profiles, the Clog and the Slingback – showcasing rounded and exaggerated shapes, with the Clog defined by amped-up athleisure via deep-ridged soles and pony and croc exotics.
Martine Rose’s designs continue to make waves, having gathered a devoted following thanks to the integrity, authenticity and innovation intrinsic to her work – values that also underpin Clarks’ brand ethos – and the legendary footwear label is excited to introduce the next instalment of this pioneering partnership.
CLARKS AND TOKYO
Clarks is hosting an exclusive Tokyo concept bar – a space for invited buyers, media contacts and industry friends of the brand to connect and have fun in the midst of a packed fashion schedule.
With warm wood as backdrop, the space is punctuated with soft-lit lanterns, much like those seen in traditional Tokyo alleyways like Golden Gai. Delicious drinks and classic Japanese board games – including a pool table, the Game of Go and Shogi, a chess-related game – bring the guests together. Rounding up the space is ‘Kunko’ incense, which makes it a truly immersive experience.
CLARKS X FRANCK PELLEGRINO
Clarks tie-up with Franck Pellegrino has been in the limelight since first announced in spring 2023 and brings in the hype. The multidisciplinary French artist/designer reimagines the iconic Wallabee using his signature colour-blocking aesthetic and typographic inspirations – seamlessly blending art and craftsmanship in a way that feels contemporary and fresh. As the cultural tastemaker that he is, he is a natural fit for Clarks, and his fondness of the profiles dates back to his childhood.
The collab’s must-have style arrives in heirloom premium suede, finished in a striking patchwork construction that only emphasises Clarks considered craftsmanship. Hits of red – one of Franck’s go-to hues – enliven the sandy backdrop and make the lettering along the heel pop. Underfoot, the natural crepe sole keeps things neutral, while the dual-branded fobs fuse Franck’s artistic individuality with Clarks’ love for detail.
