Cult Beauty reveals how to get the Pantone ‘Cloud Dancer’ look as searches surge!

Cult Beauty vvvPantone has named ‘Cloud Dancer’ a soft, serene white as its 2026 Colour of the Year, symbolising clarity and calm. The shade also reflects a rising beauty movement rooted in quiet minimalism, elevated simplicity and skin-first clean makeup.

And beauty lovers are already leaning in to this trend, with searches for ‘clean girl makeup’ having jumped by 150% in the past 30 days, while ‘minimal makeup’ is up 140%, even during the traditionally full-glam festive period.

To celebrate the shift, the in-house beauty team at Cult Beauty reveals a simple step-by-step routine to help beauty lovers recreate the Cloud Dancer clean beauty look, with fresh, flowing and effortless.

How to achieve the ‘cloud dancer’ clean beauty look:

  1. Try ‘moisture sandwiching’ for pillowy skin

Instead of applying one daily moisturiser and moving on, 2026’s skin-first routine is all about layering hydration for a cloud-soft base.

Mist the skin, apply a hydrating serum, then seal with a hyaluronic cream. This technique will help lock in moisture and prevent makeup from catching on drier patches, essential for a flawless clean finish.

  1. Swap primer for skin tint mapping

Instead of applying a base everywhere, it’s now about placement coverage to mimic naturally perfect skin.

Use a light foundation only where needed, around the nose, chin and under the eyes. This creates a believable, soft focus finish that looks more like real skin than full coverage glam.

  1. Apply blush higher and wider

A cloud dancer-inspired twist on blush placement. Apply a dewy blush slightly high on the cheekbones and softly across the temples. This lifts the face, softens the structure and gives a diffused, airy glow rather than a classic pop of colour effect.

  1. Bright-eyed detailing with white

Rather than full eye shadow looks, the beauty team explain 2026’s eye trend focuses on micro-brightening.

Try a dot of white cream shadow on the inner corner and blend upwards, not just inwards, for a vertical lift. And apply white in the waterline only halfway, then blend the inner edge, a softer professional take on the classic bright eye look.

  1. Gloss setting your base

Instead of powder, the Cloud Dancer looks uses strategically placed gloss points.

Dab a tiny amount of clear lip gloss or balm on the centre of the eyelid, cheekbone or cupid’s bow. This creates a light-catching finish that helps to embody the calm luminosity of the cloud dancer look.

  1. Try the milky white but modern manicure

The white manicure gets a fresh twist. Apply one coat of sheer white followed by one coat of clear jelly gloss for a clouded, dimensional nail. It’s the new quiet luxury neutral.
