The Home of Artisan Fine Foods and Royal Warrant Holder, DukesHill has signed its first ever major retail deal with Ocado, for the world’s largest dedicated online supermarket to stock the artisan brand’s full range of traditionally dry cured bacon.
DukesHill bacon is traditionally dry-cured by hand with a mixture of salt and unrefined brown sugar. The flitches of bacon are rubbed with salt and sugar every day for five days, before being hung to dry naturally in DukesHill’s drying rooms for a minimum of three days. As a result, the meat becomes darker and firmer as the meat cures and dries, resulting in the most delicious bacon.
DukesHill only uses high-welfare British Pork and works closely with its suppliers and farmers to ensure that its pigs live happy lives.
The brand doesn’t add any water when they make their bacon, meaning there will be no water (or ‘white goo’) waiting to come out when cooked and no shrinkage.
