Mei Mei, the award-winning restaurant in London’s iconic Borough Market, announces the launch of Mei Mei Goods, a vibrant range of Asian sauces designed to bring restaurant-quality flavours straight to home kitchens.
Founded in 2019 by Michelin-starred chef Elizabeth Haigh, Mei Mei is renowned for its beloved authentic South-East Asian dishes including Hainanese Chicken Rice, Nasi Lemak, and Kaya Toast. The restaurant is celebrated for its flavours that blend nostalgia with culinary innovation. Its success, paired with customer demand for the home-made sauces at the restaurant, inspired the creation of an Asian home goods line to be available online and in stores in 2026.
Mei Mei Goods is bringing premium, consciously crafted Asian flavours to everyday kitchens. Inspired by the bold and playful spirit of its Borough Market restaurant, Chef Elizabeth Haigh creates sauces that are confident, expert, and unpretentious. The brand’s mission is to shake up the ordinary, challenge traditions, and make deliciousness accessible to all.
Mei Mei Goods launches with a line-up of 10 sauces – including chilli sauces, chilli oils, cooking sauces, and spreads. Each product is designed to complement one another, offering a new way to layer flavour and elevate every meal.
The range provides a Three-Step approach to creating easy delicious meals: Build your base, bring the heat, and finish with a crunch. That’s it.
- Base – Build your dish on a rich foundation, such as the fiery Spicy Dark Soy Sauce for stir-fried noodles.
- Heat – Dial up the flavour intensity by adding your choice of sauce, like a drizzle of sweet-yet-spicy Hot Honey.
- Topper – Finish with bold texture and depth, such as the umami-packed Black Bean Crunch.
By stacking flavour this way, Mei Mei Goods makes it easy to transform everyday cooking into extraordinary Asian-inspired meals. Thoughtful ingredient choices, like using avocado oil pressed from “second-grade” avocados, add an extra layer of care and creativity to the range.
The initial product list feature a mix of new recipes, such as the Hot Honey and Sweet Soy Sauce, and fan favourites from the restaurant, which includes three 2025 Great Taste Award-Winning sauces; The Sambal Chilli Paste, Kaya Coconut Spread – Caramel, and Kaya Coconut Spread – Pandan. Chef Elizabeth Haigh has plans to reveal additional limited edition drops on her social platforms.
The 10 product launch line-up includes:
- Black Bean Crunch: Take everything you love about a traditional black bean sauce and crank up the fun. Loaded with fermented black soybeans, dried chillies and crunchy shallots for a texture twist – stir-fry it with prawns, dollop it on steamed rice, or even sneak it into a cheese toastie.
- House Chilli Sauce: This is not your average Sriracha. Zingy and garlicky, made with fresh red chillies, it’s punchy, bright and full of flavour. This sauce is the bold sidekick of Mei Mei’s famous Hainanese Chicken Rice, but it’s also perfect on everything from eggs to dumplings.
- Spicy Dark Soy: A bold, savoury dark soy sauce with fiery fresh chilli, garlic and spices. Great to marinade, stir fry with fish or on top of rice – rich, punchy, and full of heat!
- Hot Honey: Sweet, sticky, and layered with Asian chilli heat – this pure golden honey infused with chilli sauce is perfect for drizzling over everything from charcuterie boards to roasted vegetables and even cocktails.
Elizabeth Haigh, Michelin-starred chef and founder of Mei Mei Goods, said: “Growing up, I’d throw soy sauce into everything and hope for the best, but over time I learnt the real secret: layering flavours and balancing heat, sweetness and spice. That’s the hardest and most intimidating part of cooking South-East Asian food. With Mei Mei Goods, we’ve stripped away the stress by creating a simple three-step approach, so anyone can cook authentic, delicious dishes at home. It’s all about bringing the playful spirit of our Borough Market kitchen into your own.”
“Millennials and Gen Z are hungrier than ever for global spicy flavours. Ethnic food in the UK is growing at 9 % annually but a chef-backed Southeast Asian brand is nowhere to be seen,” added Renee St John, CEO of Mei Mei Goods.
