Getir unveils Europe’s largest store network for ultrafast grocery delivery

GetirQuick commerce pioneer Getir, which operates in 9 countries,  today announced the launch of Europe’s biggest store network for ultrafast grocery delivery. The combined Getir and Gorillas’ store network will serve customers in Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, as well as the US. It is the result of a fast and efficient integration process between the two companies that started with the acquisition of Gorillas by Getir at the end of 2022. Today’s announcement also marks an important milestone for the quick commerce industry as a whole, as it results in the largest store network for ultrafast grocery delivery in Europe.

“Since the acquisition, we have had one clear goal in mind: Getir and Gorillas – stronger and better together. Today’s announcement exemplifies how leveraging the synergies of both organisations can lead to not just the biggest and most efficient store network for ultrafast grocery delivery, but also one that will significantly increase the product range and service quality for our customers,” said Turancan Salur, Regional General Manager of Getir. “It is also a testament to the great work of our team, who have been able to achieve this milestone in just a few months time.”

The combination of Getir and Gorillas’ store network is currently taking place across the different markets where both brands operate and it will take a couple of months to be fully completed. This process may result in the closing of some stores. To avoid the impact of any such closures a variety of measures will be put in place, including offering employees to relocate to remaining stores.

The number one priority: to provide the best possible service to the customer

Both the Getir and the Gorillas brands, and their respective apps, will continue to co-exist and operate. Customers located in Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, and the US (New York City) will be able to order from both apps as usual, but will now benefit from a stronger and more efficient store network regardless of the app used when ordering.

Whenever a customer orders from either the Getir or the Gorillas app, the entire combined courier fleet will be at their disposal. The first available courier, from either Getir or Gorillas will deliver the order. This will allow for seamless deliveries and overall better shopping experiences.

An assortment that combines the best of two worlds

Getir and Gorillas customers can now also benefit from an improved and combined assortment of approximately 2,000 everyday products. Based on customer data insights, this assortment brings together the best of the Getir and Gorillas world, including many of the most beloved local brands. In addition, customers will continue to be able to shop from a wide selection of well-known national and international brands.
