Heinz partners with grassroots football to give young footballers a proper warm up

Heinz Heinz Beanz has today announced a new partnership with Team Grassroots to support youth football teams across the UK, helping ensure the next generation of players have everything they need to get match ready.

For grassroots teams, matchday can be tricky. Many teams rely entirely on volunteers, and on a busy weekend you’re lucky if there’s someone available to run the line.

That’s why Heinz is partnering with Team Grassroots, one of the UK’s leading independent organisations supporting community football. Together, they are helping make matchdays a little easier for youth teams across the UK by ensuring they have a Proper Warm Up.

As part of the partnership, Heinz will distribute more than 10,000 training bibs, 8,000 footballs and 1,000 ball carriers to grassroots youth teams for players aged 6 and above across the country.

By providing essential equipment where it is needed most, Heinz and Team Grassroots are supporting the coaches, volunteers, parents and players who are at the heart of the grassroots game.

Why Heinz?

For generations, Heinz Beanz have been a familiar part of footballer’s routines, from muddy Sunday mornings to the very highest levels of the game, including some of England’s biggest stars. For the next generation of Britain’s footballing stars, a pre-

match helping of Beanz on Wholemeal Toast can provide a range of nutrients including vital carbs, fibre, and protein for the game they love. Which means while they’re hungry to play, they won’t be playing hungry.

Alessandra de Druille, head of meals, Kraft Heinz, said: “For decades, Beanz have played a memorable role in fuelling the next generation. That’s especially true in football culture across Britain. Whether it’s a quick breakfast before a Sunday morning kick-off or a pre-match ritual followed by some of the country’s biggest players, Beanz have long been part of the journey of fuelling the future, and grassroots football is where that journey begins for so many. Through our partnership with Team Grassroots, we’re proud to help provide the equipment teams need to give young players the best possible start.”

Paul Kirton, Founder, Team Grassroots, said: “The Proper Warm Up campaign is a brilliant fit for grassroots football. Matchdays are powered by volunteers, parents, coaches and players who give up their time in all weathers, so partnering with Heinz – a brand already synonymous with warmth, comfort and bringing people together, feels completely natural. It’s a fun, authentic partnership that understands the grassroots game and gives something meaningful back to the people who make it happen every week.”
