Hunter & GatherHunter & Gather,  the award‑winning functional wellness brand driving the real‑food agenda, has named functional nutritionist and best‑selling author Pauline Cox MSc as its new director of functional nutrition.

A strategic appointment for a brand on the rise, Cox’s appointment signals a major milestone for the business as it accelerates its commitment to functional nutrition, evidence-based product development and clear, accessible consumer education. Her appointment strengthens Hunter & Gather’s growing team at a pivotal moment as the brand gears up for a new era of innovation rooted in health, ingredient integrity and scientific rigour.

Pauline, who holds a Masters in Nutrition, Physical Activity and Public Health, and has significant clinical and academic experience in integrative and functional health, first became a customer and friend of Hunter & Gather in 2018. She was naturally drawn to the brand’s real‑food ethos, ingredient integrity and ancestral principles. What began as organic discovery evolved into a shared philosophy around functional nutrition and health, forming a relationship grounded in aligned values and mutual respect that now formalises into today’s partnership.

In her new role, Cox will support Hunter & Gather’s nutritional strategy across product development, education and community engagement. Her expertise in women’s health, metabolic wellbeing and functional nutrition will shape the brand’s next generation of products, ensuring they are grounded in robust science and designed to support real world health outcomes. She will also expand Hunter & Gather’s educational output, translating complex nutritional science into clear, practical guidance for consumers.

Jeff Webster, co-founder of Hunter & Gather, comments: “Pauline has been a trusted voice in functional nutrition for years and her appointment marks the beginning of a new chapter for Hunter & Gather. Her expertise strengthens our commitment to evidence-backed product development and helps us translate complex nutritional science into clear, practical guidance that supports our customers’ real world health needs, particularly in women’s health. We’re thrilled to welcome her into the team as we enter this next era.”

Cox’s appointment underscores Hunter & Gather’s long term ambition to lead the UK’s functional wellness category with products that are:

  • Scientifically grounded
  • Free from seed oils, refined sugars and unnecessary additives
  • Designed to support metabolic health and everyday wellbeing

Continues Webster: “Behind the scenes, this brings a new layer of scientific depth to our formulations and content and a clearer bridge between cutting-edge functional nutrition and everyday application.”

Commenting on her appointment as director of functional nutrition, Pauline Cox says: “Hunter & Gather has always stood for integrity, innovation and a genuine commitment to improving health through real food and evidence-based nutrition. I am delighted to be part of a brand that stands for the same principles as I do, seeing functional wellness and natural nutrition as a movement, not a health fad, that advocates for nutrient-dense, honest ingredients, and helping people to reconnect with nutrition that supports human health at its most fundamental level.

“Joining the team at such an important moment in its growth is very exciting. Together, we’ll continue to create products and education that empowers people to take control of their wellbeing.”
