Mowgli Street Food, the much-loved Indian restaurant brand known for its vibrant street food and authentic home cooking, has announced brand new limited-edition set-menus created with the people of Glasgow in mind.
From now until Sunday September 22nd, diners at Mowgli Glasgow can enjoy the Glasgow Tiffin, a hearty sharing feast bringing together your three most-loved curries, served with rice and that most iconic of local refreshments, Irn-Bru.
This special tiffin comes in two varieties, both costing £15 and designed for two people sharing:
Tiffin One includes Mother Butter Chicken, House Lamb, Temple Dahl and Rice. Served with an ice-cold can of Irn-Bru.
Tiffin Two (Veggie) includes Mowgli Paneer (also a staff favourite!), Temple Dahl, Picnic Potato Curry and Rice. Served with an ice-cold can of Irn-Bru.
A Mowgli spokesperson said: “We’ve listened to the voices of Glasgow and your favourite dishes are now together in one joyous tiffin. The Glasgow Tiffin is about bringing comfort, indulgence, and a little local flavour to the table. And yes, that means Irn-Bru alongside our curries – it’s the perfect pairing!”
The Glasgow Tiffin continues Mowgli’s tradition of celebrating the way Indians eat at home and from street stalls – vibrant, punchy dishes cooked fresh each morning with love and designed for sharing.
Mowgli Glasgow opened in 2022, and quickly established itself as one of the go-to restaurants in the city. During its time, certain curries have proved themselves to be firm Glaswegian favourites. Dishes so popular that the restaurant has coined them as the “Glasgow tiffins”.
Founder Nisha Katona, a familiar face on BBC, ITV and Channel 4, opened the first Mowgli in Liverpool in 2014. In 2019, she was awarded an MBE for services to the food industry.
Known for signature dishes like chat bombs, treacle tamarind fries, Keralan fried chicken and Mother Butter Chicken, Mowgli also prides itself on interiors inspired by Katona’s ancestral home in Varanasi – an amber-glow night market feel with trees strung with vines and the lively clatter of tiffin tins.
Mowgli’s mission goes beyond food. Through The Mowgli Trust, the brand has donated over £2.6 million to local and international charities. Each Mowgli location partners with a handpicked local cause, with Glasgow supporting charities that enrich lives across the community.
The restaurant group has been recognised nationally for its workplace culture and charitable leadership, including Best Place to Work by The Sunday Times three years in a row and UK’s Best Companies to Work For four years running.
