J Wray & Nephew marks 200 years with collectible limited edition label

J Wray & NephewThis year marks the 200th anniversary of J. Wray & Nephew, the oldest registered company in Jamaica. To celebrate, the company’s iconic Wray & Nephew rum has partnered with London’s streetwear collective Trapstar on a limited-edition jersey.

Revealed just after Jamaican Independence Day, the design merges Trapstar’s bold cutting-edge urban aesthetic with Wray & Nephew’s signature heritage palette of black, green and gold – inviting fans to mark two centuries of legacy and craftsmanship in style.

The highly exclusive jersey will be available for purchase from Trapstar for an RRP £75 on 17th August, just in time for Notting Hill Carnival. Those wanting to be one of the few to wear the limited-edition jersey will need to keep an eye on Wray & Nephew and Trapstar social channels this month, to ensure they don’t miss any updates related to this limited drop.

“This collaboration with Wray & Nephew felt like a natural fit – two brands with deep roots and strong communities. One of our founders, Lee, is from the Caribbean, and rum has always been a meaningful part of his culture and upbringing. So, it made perfect sense to create a Jamaican-inspired jersey, and have Wray & Nephew as the official sponsor to celebrate 200 years of J. Wray & Nephew,” said a spokesperson for Trapstar London

In person birthday celebrations kick off Saturday 23rd August where acclaimed DJ and cultural curator Izzy Bossy will be curating a Formula Baad x Wray & Nephew Birthday party at UNDR, a Black-owned community venue in the heart of Notting Hill, to ensure fans can come together and toast 200 years.

It doesn’t end there. Stay tuned for more on Wray & Nephew’s ultimate birthday celebrations at Notting Hill Carnival, where the brand will bring an unmissable mix of music, culture, and – of course – “Uncle Wray’s Rum Punch” to the streets all weekend long through a special partnership.

To further commemorate two centuries at the heart of Jamaican culture, J. Wray & Nephew is also releasing a 200th Anniversary limited-edition label for its Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum 70 cl bottle, available now. Inspired by dancehall posters and iconic Soundsystem art, the collectible design wears the black, green and gold of the Jamaican flag, a label that celebrates Jamaican spirit and culture. While the limited-edition packaging is new, the rum inside remains the same beloved Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum that has earned global respect, while offering a collectible twist for fans.

The limited-edition 200th Anniversary bottle is available now in-store and online at all existing Wray & Nephew retailers, at an RRP of £30*
