Jersey Mike’s, one of America’s fastest-growing sub sandwich brands, has confirmed the location of its first ever UK restaurant, with its London debut set to take place on Argyll Street in the West End in late autumn 2026.
Located moments from Oxford Circus, the new restaurant will bring Jersey Mike’s to one of London’s most high profile retail and hospitality destinations, marking the first step in the brand’s expansion across the UK and Ireland.
And Argyll Street will be just the beginning. Three further Jersey Mike’s restaurants in central London will follow shortly after the first opening, establishing an initial four-site presence in the capital as the brand begins its UK rollout.
The four London restaurants will form the launchpad for Jersey Mike’s wider European expansion, with the brand planning to open hundreds more restaurants across the UK and Ireland as it establishes a significant new presence in the market.
The UK debut marks the latest stage of expansion for Jersey Mike’s, which has grown from a single sandwich shop in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, into a major US restaurant brand with more than 3,300 locations across the US and Canada.
Founded in 1956 in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, Jersey Mike’s has grown from a single neighbourhood sandwich shop into one of the US’s best-known sub brands. The brand’s proposition centres on authentic fresh sliced and fresh grilled made to order subs, with meats and cheeses sliced in-store, fresh vegetables and bread baked throughout the day. Its signature ‘juice’, a combination of red wine vinegar and oil blend, and ‘Mike’s Way’ preparation are hallmarks of the Jersey Mike’s experience.
The Argyll Street restaurant will bring that established US proposition to the UK for the first time, with its central London location giving the brand an immediate presence in one of the capital’s busiest and most internationally recognised destinations.
The UK and Ireland expansion is being led by Jersey Mike’s Founder and Chairman Peter Cancro, whose connection to the brand stretches back to its original Jersey Shore location. Cancro began working at the shop at the age of 14 before buying the business at just 17, going on to build Jersey Mike’s into a national US brand.
More than seven decades after the original store opened, Cancro is now taking the business into a new market, with the UK and Ireland representing an exciting new chapter in Jersey Mike’s international growth.
Peter Cancro, founder and chairman of Jersey Mike’s Subs, said: “Jersey Mike’s has always been about making a great sub, taking care of our customers and giving back to the communities we’re part of. I’m excited to bring that same spirit to the UK. We’ve spent decades building this brand in America, and now we’re ready to introduce a whole new audience to what we mean when we say ‘a Sub Above’.”
This year, Jersey Mike’s Subs has been named America’s highest-rated fast-food chain for customer satisfaction, in the 2026 American Customer Satisfaction Index, and was ranked #1 in Entrepreneur’s Top 500 Franchise Companies.
With its first four London locations set to establish the brand in the UK, Jersey Mike’s is laying the foundations to bring their fresh sliced and grilled subs to a new generation of customers across Britain and Ireland.
