Cow & Sow, the premium steakhouse brand with restaurants in Bristol and Birmingham has announced the opening of The Field Farmshop & Kitchen, which is set to open in Autumn 2026.

Once known as the Dew Drop Inn and more recently The Jubilee, the site has been shuttered for more than three years and will undergo a change of use transformation, led by founder Mark Warbuton and his wife Amy. Sitting within almost an acre of land, the property is located opposite Cow & Sow’s recently launched Kitchen Farm in Flax Bourton, just outside of Bristol.

The Field farm shop will sell home-grown produce delivered daily from the farm, as well as fresh bread, dairy products, pantry staples and butchery, in partnership with Cow & Sow’s British meat suppliers. The shop will also feature a florist, plus a gift and homewares section.

Open from morning until 6pm, The Field will also be home to a 70-seater restaurant/cafe, serving up a range of hearty breakfast, brunch and lunch offerings including fresh salads, quiches, soups and ploughman’s platters, all freshly prepared onsite. Guests will also be able to enjoy coffee, using beans from Clifton Coffee Roasters, plus refreshing drinks from a bar.

Behind the building, external decking will give a further 40-plus guests the opportunity to dine al fresco, or enjoy a drink from the bar, whilst taking in the stunning countryside views. The Field will stay open into the evening on selected days, giving locals and visitors the chance to catch up and enjoy the last rays of sunshine.

Cow & Sow has also revealed ambitious plans for a phase two of the development, creating meeting and event spaces available to hire, plus a test kitchen and cookery school on the first floor of the building.

Offering masterclasses and courses both in the test kitchens and over fire on the terrace, Cow & Sow and the team at The Field will be collaborating with experts including Roam Catering’s Ross Anderson, an expert in fireside cooking and judge for the World Steak Challenge competition and Ben Naylor from Somerset Grill Co, who are both currently working with the Cow & Sow team.

Mark Warburton, founder of Cow & Sow, said: “It’s been a really exciting start to the year for us, we’ve already introduced our Kitchen Farm and now Amy and I are bringing The Field Farmshop & Kitchen into the wider family. We’re passionate about using and growing the very best produce in our restaurants and sourcing it from as locally as possible, and we want to share that passion with the people of Bristol and beyond.

“I really want this space to become a place to gather, enjoy and celebrate for locals and visitors and we’re already working with our friends at Clifton Coffee Roasters, Walter Rose & Son, Roam Catering and Somerset Grill Co to make sure we’re able to offer something really special. We can’t wait to welcome people through the doors this autumn.”
