One of the UK’s leading eCommerce fulfilment specialists, J&J® Global Fulfilment has released its first ever annual Impact Report, detailing the business’ environmental, social and governance (ESG) progress during the 2024-25 financial year.
The new report captures J&J’s® continued expansion, strong operational performance and ongoing investment in technology, people and infrastructure. During the period, J&J was able to fulfil several million orders, bringing the business’ lifetime total to more than 40 million shipments since launch, supporting over 400 eCommerce brands across various sectors. All of this was done with sustainability at the forefront of operations.
The business is keen to drive forward sustainability in the eCommerce landscape and had started this by integrating responsible waste management and packaging innovation into its entire operations. The report highlights how J&J® diverted 82% of all waste from the Northampton site into reuse and recycling initiatives and has reduced its use of plastic packaging globally by 90% in the past five years.
This period also included the first collaboration with sustainability partners, Seismic, which included an assessment to identify, assess and prioritise the environmental, social and governance topics that were most important. This included ways to reduce CO2 emissions, integrate sustainable packaging, improve data and risk management and create a responsible supply chain. Further to this, the report has highlighted 19 ESG measures to support robustness of activity.
Emma Dempsey, CEO of J&J® Global Fulfilment said: “The Impact Report reflects more than how far the business has grown over the last year, it highlights the ESG goals behind that expansion. Sustainability is central to this. We know the importance of managing our carbon emissions and resource use, engaging positively with the communities where we operate, and running our business responsibly across every aspect of what we do.”
“What makes J&J® special is the combination of our technology, our expertise, our people and the customer experience we deliver. Over the past year, we’ve built a much clearer picture of our ESG priorities. Transparency, or as we like to put it, ‘Total Visibility’, has always been part of our DNA, and as we move forward we will continue to communicate our progress transparently.”
“I’m proud to share our first Impact Report, highlighting some of the steps we’ve already taken and the progress made. We have big ambitions in the ESG space, and I’m excited about the projects we have in the pipeline over the next 12 months.”
