Iconic French patisserie, Ladurée, marks two decades of success on British shores with the stunning transformation of its Burlington Arcade boutique. Tastefully reimagined for a new generation, the flagship Mayfair location is a world-first for the brand – a fresh and elegant expression of the quality, flavours and unmistakable identity that have defined the premium pastry-maker since 1862.
In a departure from its opulent gold interior, the exquisite boutique has been elevated with polished brass and bespoke carpentry that balance modern sophistication and historical charm. Combined with hand-crafted shelving and crystal-clear counters, the all-new concept strikes a tone of pared-back luxury, allowing Ladurée’s iconic delicacies to do the talking.
The façade that looks out onto London’s Piccadilly has been treated to Ladurée’s signature shade of pastel green, framing window displays that invite passersby to step in and experience a twenty-first-century take on traditional Parisian luxury.
Designed in collaboration with Studio Ravn, the boutique’s transformation marks a carefully considered evolution for Ladurée, and no location is more fitting than Burlington Arcade. Renowned as the world’s first shopping mall, the arcade has itself been a pioneer of luxury since the 1800s and remains one of the world’s foremost destinations for high-end retail.
As one of Ladurée’s most historic and distinctive locations, the transformation of the Burlington Arcade boutique is a milestone moment for two of the biggest names in luxury and a key symbol of Ladurée’s enduring commitment to delivering Parisian excellence in the heart of London.
Mélanie Carron, Group CEO of Maison Ladurée, shares:
“Burlington Arcade and Ladurée were both born in the 19th century — two institutions shaped by the same historical spirit of elegance, refinement and urban sophistication. In renovating the space, we made a conscious choice to preserve that golden ambience while introducing subtle modern touches. The result is a boutique that feels both timeless and relevant.”
Ladurée celebrates 20 years in the UK
Carron adds: “Celebrating 20 years in the UK is a significant milestone for Ladurée. Our boutique at Harrods, opened in 2005, was our very first international location. It marked the beginning of a new era for the Maison and a turning point in our global expansion. The renovation of our boutique in Burlington Arcade today is both a tribute to that journey and a reaffirmation of our long-term commitment to the London market.”
Trupti Shah, Commercial Director of Burlington Arcade, comments: “Burlington Arcade has been selected to host a world-exclusive concept, making this a landmark moment for both the brand and the Arcade. As one of our longstanding tenants, Ladurée perfectly reflects the curiosity and craftsmanship that define the Arcade. This exciting new chapter not only enhances the experience for our visitors but also underlines the Reuben Brothers’ commitment to maintaining Burlington Arcade as one of London’s most iconic luxury destinations for retail and cultural experiences.’’
There is no cultural experience more powerful than food – and it is a realm in which Ladurée excels. Beyond its world-famous macarons and pastries, the brand’s renovated London boutique offers a thoughtfully curated menu of takeaway items that blend French sophistication with British and international influences.
At its heart is the debut of Ladurée’s Burlington Arcade-exclusive matcha range, featuring premium organic matcha sourced from Uji, Japan. The new line – including matcha macarons and lattes – will be extended throughout the summer months, with the introduction of new and innovative drinks.
The world-exclusive Burlington Arcade boutique will also offer a cream tea experience, complete with an indulgent champagne option, served under a luxurious glass cloche. Whether dining in or taking away, preparations are also underway for the roll out of the exclusive Burlington Arcade x Ladurée Picnic Box.
Adding to the bespoke experiences, personalised gift options will be available, including custom macaron assortments and limited-edition boxes.
With 12 locations across the UK and a growing presence in both retail and travel, Ladurée continues to set the standard in luxury patisserie — honouring its past while delighting a new wave of discerning customers with fresh innovation and Parisian charm.
