lululemon to double its Trafford Centre footprint with major upsize

lululemonTrafford Centre has announced that global athletic apparel brand lululemon will open a significantly upsized store in a central location at the edge of The Dome in July.

The new lululemon store, spanning 3,700 sq ft of sales space, represents an increased footprint of more than 150% at Trafford Centre and will deliver an elevated retail experience. Featuring enhanced in-store elements tailored to the brand’s dedicated and growing audience, the space will offer an expanded range of lululemon’s technical athletic apparel, footwear and accessories to support a range of activities including yoga, Pilates, running, training, golf, tennis, and everyday movement.

The upsize follows continued momentum for Trafford Centre’s athleisure and sportswear offer, which was up 16% YOY in December 2025.  Major brands continue to upsize and repeatedly choose the destination for flagship and concept stores. lululemon’s relocation further strengthens Trafford Centre’s position as a key location for leading performance and lifestyle brands seeking scale and standout physical environments.

Kate Pearson, director of portfolio leasing at Pradera Lateral, Trafford Centre’s asset managers, said: “lululemon’s decision to relocate and increase its Trafford Centre Manchester location is a powerful endorsement of the strength of our retail proposition. It reflects a clear trend of leading global brands investing in larger, more immersive spaces where they can connect with our highly engaged and diverse customer base.

“The continued growth of our athleisure and performance category has firmly positioned Trafford Centre at the forefront of the sector and lululemon will be a standout brand within it.”
