Majestic, the UK’s largest specialist wine retailer, has joined forces with the nation’s biggest delivery network, Just Eat, to expand its on-demand offering.

Majestic customers can now order from hundreds of the retailer’s award-winning wines through the Just Eat app, with deliveries arriving in as little as 30 minutes. The partnership has officially launched today from 43 Majestic stores, including 16 shops across London, two in Edinburgh, and branches in Sheffield, Derby, Abingdon and High Wycombe. The tie-up will roll out to a total of 177 Majestic locations across the UK before Christmas – just in time to help wine lovers stock up during their festive celebrations.

Millions of shoppers using the Just Eat app will be able to order from Majestic’s market-leading wine range across key categories including Champagne, Sparkling, Bordeaux, Loire, Italy, New Zealand and Australia. Majestic’s popular own-label Chosen By Majestic and Definition By Majestic wines will also be available to buy through Just Eat, alongside its ever-growing proposition of premium spirits and beers.

The Just Eat collaboration adds to Majestic’s existing rapid fulfilment partnerships as the retailer seeks to build on the online growth it has experienced since the Covid-19 pandemic, and meet growing demand among its customer base for local delivery solutions.

Majestic’s e-commerce sales accounted for more than 20% of retail revenues in 2023/24, driven in part by the growing popularity of its Shop Local proposition. The online functionality allows customers to shop the stock available at their local Majestic store, in real time, for free collection in less than four hours or next-day home delivery via their local store’s dedicated delivery van. Majestic operates a fleet of more than 200 vans across the UK, allowing each of its 209 shops to deliver directly to their local communities.

General manager, Majestic Commercial, Maria Lopez said: “Our mission at Majestic is to help people discover and buy wines, beers and spirits they will love, and this exciting new partnership with Just Eat will allow us to serve even more customers, whenever they need us, through the rapidly growing on-demand channel.

“We already know that our customers value the ability to shop the stock available at their local Majestic stores in real time, with flexible choices for same-day and next-day delivery or collection. Our combination with Just Eat adds another hugely convenient option into the mix, which we know our customers will love. We’re delighted to be working with Just Eat and we’re looking forward to rolling the partnership out across the UK – just in time to help our customers top-up their wine racks and fridges during the Christmas period.”

Amy Heather, director of strategic partnerships at Just Eat, said: “As our daily lives become busier, shoppers are increasingly tapping into on demand delivery to meet their convenience needs. We’re delighted to add Majestic’s selection of quality wines, beers and spirits to the growing range of retailers we’re bringing to Just Eat’s customers. Whether the need is for a weekly shop or last minute gift giving, as the nation’s biggest fast delivery network, Just Eat is proud to lead this innovation and offer more choice to our customers across the UK.”
