McVitie'sThe snacking group behind household favourites McVitie’s, Flipz, GODIVA and Ülker has posted record revenue in its latest full-year results, for the year ending 31 December 2024, with revenues rising to surpass the £3bn milestone.

Revenue at London headquartered pladis was £3.23 billion for 2024 – a 17 per cent increase on the prior year – driven by double-digit growth in international markets and strong consumer demand for its much-loved products.

In line with pladis’ strategy to deliver profitable growth, operating profit rose by four per cent to £344.4 million, whilst earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) rose 11 per cent to £486.9 million, bolstered by strong operational discipline, brand-led growth and capital efficiency.

Over the year, pladis’ growth was bolstered by several new product innovations, such as the introduction of a ‘Cola Bottle’ flavour for its iconic Jaffa Cakes and an innovative new range, Jacob’s Bites. Through its Ülker brand in Türkiye, pladis was also one of the first chocolatiers to bring the viral Dubai chocolate trend to the mainstream, shipping 3,176 tonnes between August and December 2024.

Sharing the news as pladis launched its 2024 Annual Report, Sridhar Ramamurthy, chief financial officer, said: “2024 represented another year of strong progress for pladis as we cement our position as one of the fastest growing global snacking companies.  Our iconic brands continue to delight billions of consumers each year, and our focus on innovation means we have the agility to respond to consumer desire for both indulgence and healthier snacking.

“Our performance is testament to the hard work and dedication of our 16,000 colleagues and is a great achievement given the challenging macroeconomic environment, including cocoa price inflation and currency fluctuations.

“While maintaining financial discipline, we are investing now to fuel our growth tomorrow, including in digital infrastructure, research and development and brand advertising.

“Looking ahead, we have a clear strategic growth plan which underpins our ambition, enabling us to capitalise on our leading market positions and the unique growth opportunities available to us as we harness the momentum we are building.”

Its latest set of results come on the back of pladis’ recent announcement to invest £68 million to bolster its operations in the UK.

Founded in 2016, pladis employees 16,000 people and sells snacks in more than 110 countries.  It is currently the fourth largest sweet biscuit maker globally and seventh largest chocolate manufacturer.
