Nespresso pledges support for ‘10 Days for Change’ in Liverpool ahead of World Homelessness Day on 10 October

Nespresso is supporting ‘10 Days for Change’, a campaign pioneered by Change Please to drive support for people experiencing homelessness through the power of coffee.

The campaign marks another important milestone of the partnership between Nespresso and social enterprise, Change Please, designed to raise awareness of homelessness issues, emphasise the transformative power of employment for those affected by homelessness, and encourage community support through donations.

From the 23rd September to 31st October, our distinctive pink Nespresso for Change Please coffee van will be at Liverpool ONE in the heart of the city, arriving in the north of the country for the first time. Visitors can enjoy a cup of Nespresso for Change Please coffee and contribute to the cause through donations, which will support the work of Change Please in the North-West.

With one in 182 people in England experiencing homelessness in 2024*, the issue is particularly pressing in the North of England. Cities such as Liverpool, Manchester and Newcastle have seen a significant increase in the number of people experiencing homelessness, with more than 25,000 people being homeless across the North.

In April 2024, Nespresso announced that it would donate £1 million to Change Please to bring awareness for coffee lovers and tackle homelessness. In June 2024, Nespresso took over Outernet London with Change Please and launched a week-long immersive exhibition to highlight the partnership and drive awareness of homelessness in the UK.

Change Please has started building its presence and impact in the North, rolling out training programs in Manchester and launching the ‘Change Please in Residence’ pilot, supporting trainees 12-week placements with partner companies and more to come in 2025.

Anna Lundstrom, CEO, Nespresso UK & ROI, said: “We are incredibly proud of our partnership with Change Please and by bringing the van to Liverpool we hope to show the powerful role coffee can play in driving positive change within local communities. We invite Liverpool ONE customers to take a moment to enjoy our new collection of coffees and learn more about the pressing issue of homelessness and how together we can really change lives.”

Cemal Ezal OBE, founder and CEO of Change Please, said: “The 10 Days for Change’ campaign is a powerful step towards addressing homelessness. By bringing this initiative to Liverpool, we aim to expand our existing impact in Manchester to Liverpool and engage the local community to drive meaningful action in supporting those affected by homelessness. This campaign is more than just raising awareness – it’s about empowering people to make real changes in their lives.”

The Nespresso for Change Please coffee collection is now available to purchase through Nespresso boutiques and online and available as part of Nespresso’s Original, Vertuo and Professional systems with tasting notes of red fruits and malted cereal.

The Nespresso for Change Please coffee van will be at Liverpool ONE in St Peter’s Square until Thursday 31st October.
