Newmark announces it has secured new and expanded stores for Monsoon and Accessorize across both high street and travel retail portfolios. The activity spans over 9,000 square feet, reflecting the group’s continued investment in growth across diverse consumer environments.

Known for bohemian-inspired designs, natural fabrics and attention to artisanal detail, Monsoon is a womenswear, childrenswear and occasion wear brand. Accessorize specialises in offering affordable fashion accessories, including jewellery, bags and seasonal items, aiming to empower women to express their individuality and personal style.

Newmark Directors Amanda Wakefield and Sharon Daley represented the retailers on the high street and travel retail expansions, respectively.

Amanda Wakefield commented, “Monsoon’s and Accessorize’s continued expansion into high-performing retail destinations across the UK reflects its strong positioning and clear growth strategy. It’s been a privilege to represent the brands over the past five years and to support its momentum in securing prominent, high-footfall locations.”

Daley added: “Travel retail presents a unique set of opportunities – where visibility, speed and competitive positioning are paramount. We’re proud to support Monsoon and Accessorize in securing strategic locations in some of the UK’s busiest airports, including a significant step forward for the Monsoon brand regarding its first travel retail stores. These wins reflect thoughtful brand alignment, strong execution and a clear understanding of the travel retail environment.”

Accessorize’s new and expanded stores include Canada Square in Canary Wharf and The Beacon in Eastbourne; both opened 27th May 2025, Chantry Place in Norwich which is opening soon and an upsize in the Trafford Centre, Manchester which will open before the end of the year.

Within its travel retail portfolio, Accessorize refitted and upsized stores in Birmingham Airport which reopened in March 2025 and Glasgow Airport which reopened in November 2024.  Additionally, Monsoon opened two new locations at Gatwick Airport in February, marking a meaningful first step for the brand as it expands into travel retail. Accessorize is also renewing and refurbishing two stores at Gatwick Airport in both the North and South Terminals.

As airports invest in terminal expansions to accommodate future passenger demand, Newmark is supporting retail clients with footprints across 19 airport locations, helping to optimise store sizes and placements in line with evolving terminal layouts and traveller flow patterns.

Opening its first store in 1984 in London’s Covent Garden, Accessorize operates over 350 stores globally, which includes 130 in the UK. The brand plans to open 10-20 additional stores annually over the next three years across high streets and shopping centres. Accessorize currently operates 17 travel locations and Monsoon has recently added two – both secured through competitive tenders – highlighting strategic investments in high-visibility airport locations.

Clare Sowerbutts – head of property for Accessorize, added: “With consistent demand and the right partners in place, we’re confident in the evolution and resilience of our brands – demonstrating a focus on long-term growth and an ability to adapt to shifting retail dynamics. We remain committed to growing in standout retail environments that offer both visibility and strong customer engagement. Our new stores represent exciting steps forward as we scale across prime centres in the UK.”
