Say bonjour to 1,000 free baguettes, over 1,500 free barista-made drinks, and the chance to win a year’s supply of bread this Bastille Day (Tuesday 14th July). Artisan bakery PAUL is celebrating its French heritage with a day of delicious giveaways.
Wear stripes for a free barista-made drink (8am – 9am)
Start the day the French way. From 8am – 9am on 14th July, the first 50 PAUL customers at each store wearing stripes of any kind – whether a Breton top, trousers, scarf or chic beret – can claim a complimentary barista-made drink at any of PAUL’s 31 locations across London, Oxford & Reading. First come, first served. Complimentary drinks exclude coolers, frappes and hot chocolate.
1,000 free baguettes (from 3pm)
Later in the day, PAUL will stage its very own ‘Storming of the Baguette’. Inspired by the Storming of the Bastille in 1789, the defining moment of the French Revolution, the bakery is giving away 1,000 of its signature freshly baked baguettes across five of its London stores, from 3pm until close. Head to PAUL Kings Road, Marylebone, Marble Arch, Holland Park and South Kensington to pick one up, with 200 available at each location. Consider this your cue to say oui to free bread! One baguette per person, subject to availability and on a first-come, first-served basis.
Win a year’s supply of baguettes
The celebrations continue online. Customers who share a photo of their baguette on Instagram or Facebook (via a static post) between 14th – 31st July 2026 will be entered into a prize draw to win a year’s supply of baguettes, which includes up to three baguettes per calendar week*. To qualify, tag @PaulBakeryUK and use the hashtag #StormingOfTheBaguette.
