Poon’s London is now available in store at Booths. This exciting step means customers across Northern England will be able to pick up Poon’s products from Booths’ 27 locations during their weekly shop.Poon’s London is rooted in the legacy of the Poon family, whose restaurant, Poon’s of Covent Garden, became the world’s first Michelin-starred Chinese restaurant. In 2018, Amy Poon revived the brand with a pop-up in Clerkenwell, the success of which led to the creation of her ‘Wontoneria’ concept, later launched at JOY in Portobello, along with her now-famous wontons.
Founded in 1847, Booths supermarkets is renowned for its high-quality artisan goods and will soon be stocking Poon’s Chilli Vinegar Dressing and Premium First Extract Soy Sauce in store. Poon’s Chilli Vinegar Dressing, awarded 2 stars by The Guild of Fine Foods in 2023, achieves a perfect balance of sour and spicy flavours, drawing inspiration from the traditional Shanghainese ‘red oil’ wonton sauce. Poon’s Premium First Extract Soy Sauce is made using soybeans grown in Southern Taiwan, this soy sauce is pressed only once and made to order, capturing the purest essence of the soya bean – akin to extra virgin, cold-pressed olive oil.
As well at Booths stores, Poon’s products will soon be available directly from their first ever shop at Spa Terminus in Bermondsey, London. Nestled within the Spa Terminus arches, alongside artisanal food and drink producers such as Monmouth Coffee, Natoora and Dynamic Vines, the shop will be open to the public on Fridays and Saturdays.
