Pricecheck has significantly added to its own-label and product portfolio with the acquisition of three iconic heritage brands, marking the next step in the company’s evolution as a brand owner.
The Sheffield-based wholesaler and distributor has completed the purchase of hair styling favourite Harmony, deodorant and antiperspirant brand Amplex, and classic men’s fragrance Rapport.
Renowned for their distinct scents and memorable advertising campaigns in the 1970s and 80s, the trio have been household staples in the UK for over 40 years. Pricecheck, having acted as the exclusive distributor for these lines since 2024, now takes full ownership of the brands, products and distribution going forward.
These acquisitions come following the successful launch of Pricecheck’s debut own-label range in 2025. It underscores the company’s strategic shift toward becoming a comprehensive end-to-end solutions provider, capable of growing brands, from product development to final sale, across multiple channels.
Barry Corker, buying director at Pricecheck, said about the acquisitions: “Millions of us grew up with these brands, seeing them on our TV screens and in our bathroom cabinets. We know there is a genuine affection for them, which is why we are incredibly proud to continue their legacy.
“Pricecheck has worked intimately with Harmony, Amplex, and Rapport for some time, so we understand the DNA of these heritage icons. By combining this deep product knowledge with our extensive distribution network and brand development capabilities, we are perfectly positioned to build on the success of these products and ensure consumers can enjoy them for years to come.”
