RAW Charging RAW Charging, the leading provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging for the hospitality and leisure sectors, is delighted to announce its destination charging scheme at LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort has helped the iconic theme park secure the number one ranking in Vauxhall’s list of the UK’s top family attractions for EV drivers. The accolade highlights RAW’s mission to Connect Amazing Places, with installations across Merlin Entertainments’ portfolio as well as National Trust, and other leading destinations.

Highlights

  • LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort named the UK’s top family attraction for EV drivers by Vauxhall, thanks to RAW Charging’s extensive on-site infrastructure.
  • 38 charging bays installed by RAW at LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort, including 24 at the theme park, 10 at the guest hotel, and 4 in the staff car park.
  • RAW Charging’s partnership with Merlin Entertainments delivers EV charging at five of the UK’s most popular attractions, with further expansion planned.
  • RAW Charging is committed to Connecting Amazing Places, supporting sustainable travel and enhancing the visitor experience across the UK.

RAW Charging connects amazing places for EV drivers

RAW’s EV charging installation at LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort has played a pivotal role in the attraction being named the UK’s top family destination for EV drivers by Vauxhall. RAW has installed 38 charging bays at LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort, including 24 at the theme park, 10 at the guest hotel, and 4 in the staff car park. As the first and last touchpoint for EV-driving customers, RAW Charging ensures an exceptional experience, with contactless payment, and power to charge a vehicle in 4-6 hours whilst families visit LEGOLAND®.

In order to determine the winner, Vauxhall, using research from the Visit Britain website, the official website for UK tourism, defined the shortlist of family attractions by comparing the EV charging facilities available on-site as well as the number of fast and rapid charge points within a one and five-mile radius of the location using data from Zapmap. As well as the availability of charging facilities nearby, the other criteria used to identify the top eight family attractions for EV drivers includes their accessibility from the UK’s 15 most populated cities. This criteria resulted in LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort named the UK’s top family attraction for EV drivers.

RAW’s partnership with Merlin Entertainments and beyond

The installation at LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort is part of RAW Charging’s exclusive partnership with Merlin Entertainments, which includes EV charging facilities at five of the UK’s top attractions: LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort, Alton Towers Resort, Thorpe Park Resort, Chessington World of Adventures Resort, and Warwick Castle. Across these sites, RAW has already delivered charging for 90 bays, with further expansion planned in 2026 to meet growing demand as the UK accelerates towards its 2030 ban on new petrol and diesel vehicles.

RAW’s destination charging network also extends to other iconic locations, including National Trust properties, McArthurGlen Designer Outlets and Exclusive Hotels. These partnerships underscore RAW’s mission to make sustainable travel accessible and convenient at the UK’s most beloved destinations.

Supporting sustainability and the visitor experience

With over 2.4 million visitors to LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort in 2022—most arriving by car—RAW’s charging infrastructure is helping families make the switch to electric vehicles with confidence. The installation aligns with Merlin Entertainments’ and RAW’s shared sustainability goals, reducing carbon emissions and supporting the UK’s transition to greener transport.

Ramesh Ganeson, vice president, LEGOLAND Windsor Resort, said: “We are the perfect family destination for a fun filled summer adventure – and are thrilled to have been recognised by Vauxhall as the top family attraction for EV drivers to visit. With our 34 RAW Charging EV bays on site, we are proud of our electric vehicle infrastructure which is available to all our priority parking ticket holders. We are pleased to announce we will be installing additional chargers later this year.”

Jason Simpson, CEO of RAW Charging, said: “We are thrilled that our work at LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort has helped the attraction secure the top spot in Vauxhall’s ranking for EV drivers. At RAW, we are dedicated to Connecting Amazing Places by providing easy-to-use, reliable charging solutions at the UK’s favourite destinations. Our partnership with Merlin Entertainments, and other iconic sites reflect our commitment to making sustainable travel easy and enjoyable for everyone.”
