This September, Rudy’s Pizza Napoletana is taking Negroni Week into extra time.
Rather than celebrating Italy’s most iconic cocktail for just one week, Rudy’s is turning it into Negroni Month, launching a limited-edition retro football shirt that unlocks a free pizza and Negroni every time it’s worn into a Rudy’s pizzeria throughout September.
Inspired by the golden era of Italian football, the exclusive Rudy’s FC jersey brings together two of Italy’s greatest loves: football and aperitivo. Priced at £60, it quickly pays for itself, rewarding wearers with a free pizza and Negroni every time they visit throughout the month.
Designed with football shirt collectors in mind, the jersey is packed with thoughtful details throughout. A tonal checkerboard pattern and rich orange gradient nods to the Negroni itself, finished with a vintage-inspired collar and embroidered Rudy’s FC crest, the shirt is designed for a relaxed and comfortable fit. Hidden in the hem, a woven label reveals the classic Negroni recipe, turning the cocktail’s iconic equal parts serve into a design feature. Created in collaboration with Malfy Gin and Cocchi Vermouth, it’s as at home in the stands as it is over pizza and aperitivo.
Available from 1 September while stocks last, the shirts will be sold online and in Rudy’s pizzeria’s nationwide. Following last year’s sell out merch drop, pizza lovers, football shirt collectors and Negroni fans will need to be quick.
The launch marks Rudy’s biggest Negroni celebration yet. Throughout September, Rudy’s is partnering with Campari, Cocchi Vermouth and Malfy Gin to serve a limited-edition Negroni menu across its restaurants, giving guests even more reasons to raise a glass all month long.
Neal Bates, managing director at Rudy’s, said: “The Negroni has always been a big part of Rudy’s. We love it because it’s one of Italy’s most iconic cocktails, rooted in tradition but with plenty of room for creativity, which is why we love putting our own spin on it every September. The shirt came from that same appreciation for Italian culture, mixing our love of pizza, football and aperitivo into something our customers could actually wear. The response over the last two years has been brilliant.
“We’ve seen guests coming back in last year’s shirts, asking when the next one is dropping, so bringing it back for a third year felt like the obvious thing to do. If we can reward them with a pizza and Negroni every time they wear it, even better. ”
“Whether you’re dropping in after work or catching up with friends, Rudy’s is inviting guests to pull on the shirt, order a Negroni and make the most of a month dedicated to one of Italy’s greatest cocktails.”
