Shoezone expands omnichannel strategy with new app launch

Shoezone, the online and in-store footwear retailer, has launched their brand new app, available to shoppers on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

The app aims to improve customers’ digital shopping experience with new features, including wishlist functions and an interactive returns portal.

The move from the retailer comes as data reveals almost half of UK shoppers use retail apps as their primary way to shop. Globally, mobile commerce accounted for over half of all online retail sales last year. The introduction of shoezone’s newest mobile platform will capitalise on the growing app market.

Produced in conjunction with mobile app developers, Swipe & Tap, the collaboration facilitated seamless cohesion between the local Leicester developers and shoezone’s in-house team.

Customers will be able to choose from a wide selection of own and name-brand styles. The app features the same intuitive filtering functions as shoezone.com, allowing customers to search products by different promotions, including shoezone’s ongoing ‘2 pairs of shoes for £10’ and an extensive clearance outlet section.

Through enhanced functionality, app users can shop on the go with ease, while taking advantage of new loyalty benefits; customers will receive a personalised shopping experience through exclusive discounts, with smooth integration across shoezone’s store network.

Shoezone’s express delivery service – offering free next day delivery at no minimum spend – is also fully integrated into the app, catering to last-minute shopping needs.

The new app sees an expansion of shoezone’s marketing capabilities, facilitating push notifications to users, which look to be a significant focus for 2025. Since launch, this approach has proven successful, with a conversion rate 17% higher than email.

Results so far show shoezone’s app is converting at a rate 8% higher than their website, as downloads of the app continue to increase by an average of 24% a week.

The shoezone app sees the retailer lead fellow shoe stores, earning a 5 star rating on the Apple App Store and 4.5 stars on the Google Play store.

A spokesperson for shoezone said:  “It’s exciting to officially launch our shoezone app, and ensure all shoppers have easy access to affordable footwear. We believe it’s our responsibility to ensure customers have the same outstanding shopping experience that you’d expect in a shoezone store.”
