Spar serves up fresh innovation with new own label pasta range

Spar Spar, the leading symbol group for independent retailers, has expanded its own label offering with the launch of a new fresh pasta range, now available in stores across the UK.

Designed to meet growing consumer demand for convenient, great-tasting meal solutions, the range includes classic Italian staples such as three varieties of filled Tortelloni – Ricotta & Spinach, Smoked Ham & Cheese, and Cheese, Tomato & Basil – all complemented by Spar branded pasta sauces.

Completely new to the Spar own label line-up, the range provides an ideal solution for time-pressed shoppers who want a quality meal without the wait. Unlike dried pasta, Spar’s fresh options cook in just minutes and are made using traditional Italian recipes by a family-owned pasta manufacturer with more than 100 years of expertise.

“Today’s shoppers are short on time but still want something fresh and delicious – and that’s exactly what SPAR delivers,” says Caroline Morris, sourcing manager at Spar UK. “We are offering authentic, high-quality pasta crafted by specialists, with vegetarian options and sauces to match. It’s a complete solution, and one that shoppers will come back for. This range has been specifically developed by the SPAR brand team to give our independent retailers a real point of difference — it’s another example of the benefits of being part of the SPAR network.”

The launch is being supported by prominent in-store POS to drive awareness and encourage trial. With shelf lives of up to 18 days for tortelloni and 13 days for sauces, the range gives Spar retailers flexibility and helps reduce waste while offering fresh, compelling choices in the chilled aisle.

Each product has been carefully priced to offer both quality and value:

  • Spar Ricotta & Spinach Tortelloni 300g – RRP £2.25
  • Spar Smoked Ham & Cheese Tortelloni 300g – RRP £2.25
  • Spar Cheese, Tomato & Basil Tortelloni 300g – RRP £2.25
  • Spar Tomato & Herb Sauce 300g – RRP £2.00
  • Spar Tomato Mascarpone Sauce 300g – RRP £2.00
  • Spar Tagliatelle 300g – RRP £1.80
  • Spar Gnocchi 400g – RRP £1.85

With core flavours, vegetarian options, and ideal pairings like SPAR garlic bread, the range gives Spar stores a fresh opportunity to meet midweek meal missions and grow basket spend. SPAR’s new chilled pasta range is available now with Spar Tagliatelle and Spar Gnocchi launching in July.
