The Cotswold Company - Retailer NewsThe Cotswold Company, the digitally-led premium handcrafted furniture and homeware brand, is pleased to announce plans to launch its first London showroom in Kingston, located at 27 Thames Street, Kingston upon Thames, KT1 1PH. The new showroom will open at the end of March and will create 8 new local jobs.

Founded in 1996 in the heart of the Cotswolds, The Cotswold Company sells thoughtfully designed, carefully crafted premium furniture and accessories through a digital-led omni-channel model. Working in tandem with specialist manufacturers and employing traditional woodworking techniques, all products are built to last.

The 4,000+ sq. ft. showroom is situated in a high footfall area alongside other high-profile home and lifestyle brands. The showroom will allow customers to shop an extensive range of The Cotswold Company’s bestselling products across each category. This includes the Chester, Inglesham, Elkstone Oak, Camille dining/living room ranges as well as a built-in chair wall offering a wider range of seating options to suit each collection.

Amid growing interest in characterful, Cotswold-style furniture across the UK, the Cotswold Company is executing an ambitious strategy to broaden its footprint of showrooms with new openings across the UK. The showroom marks its first within the M25, bringing the brand’s high-quality, made-to-last ranges to Kingston – a top five retail location[1] – to support its long-term growth ambitions. In December, the Company opened its most recent showroom in Chichester, which is trading ahead of expectations.

With its opening in Kingston, the Company is aiming to build on its highly successful Christmas period. In the 10 weeks to 28th December, the Cotswold Company significantly outperformed the home and furniture market with sales growth of 17% to £23.2m.

Ralph Tucker, Chief Executive Officer at the Cotswold Company, said: “Across the UK, we’re seeing growing interest from consumers who are seeking ways to add a touch of Cotswold-charm to their homes, combining timeless elegance, premium quality and unbelievable value. In London, that is no different; however, we wanted to make sure we had the right store in the right location before we took our first steps in the capital. With our expansive showroom in Kingston – a highly popular retail location with strong appeal for homeware and furniture customers – we think we have the perfect opportunity to introduce more consumers to the brand and create a destination for those looking for inspiration for their homes.

“The opening builds on a sustained period of growth and strategic progress for The Cotswold Company. Over Christmas, we celebrated record results and have seen strong demand across our new openings – including in Chichester, which opened in December. This gives us huge confidence to continue executing against our plan and scaling the Company into one of the most-loved furniture and homeware brands across the UK.”
