Perfume Direct has unveiled the trending scents that Santa will be dropping down the chimney with this Christmas – just in the St. Nick of time for those who still have some shopping left to do and need inspiration!

Tom Ford fragrances are topping the charts as the most searched for fragrances in the lead up to Christmas1 – with the allure of the brand’s unisex scents Black Orchid and Oud Wood EDP – but it’s Jimmy Choo’s Eau de Parfum that’s the number one Christmas best seller, followed by Choo’s Illicit EDP.

At number three in Perfume Direct’s Christmas Top 10 is Mont Blanc Explorer, with its bold and adventurous notes of bergamot, leather and vetiver, followed by Caroline Herrera Good Girl and Issey Miyake L’Eau d’Isssey Pour Homme.

  8. Calvin Klein Collection Women’s Gift Set

  10. Hugo Boss Orange Women’s

Fragrances that the nation is searching out also include Dior Sauvage and Alien, making up the top three just behind Tom Ford Black Orchid.

Battle of the Design Brands

When it comes to luxury labels, the battle of the designer fragrance brands at Perfume Direct this Christmas has crowned a clear winner.  Three Jimmy Choo fragrances come in Perfume Direct’s Top 10 this Christmas.

Jonny Webber at PerfumeDirect.com comments, “With a massive 54% off the RRP, Jimmy Choo Eau De Parfum (£23.99, 40ml) is drawing in bargain hunting Brits at number one. At number two is Illicit, that offers a bold blend of ginger, bitter orange, rose, and warm honey-amber undertones, making it perfect for the Winter season. Blossom – a perfume with a sparkling mix of red berries, citrus, and soft floral notes, comes in at number six, cementing its status as a must-have for party season gift.”

Calvin Klein’s classics also remain a go-to for Christmas gifting thanks to their iconic status and versatile appeal—offering scents that feel both familiar and modern, and making them reliable options for shoppers wanting to gift something universally loved. Euphoria delivers a luxurious blend of exotic fruits and rich florals, CK One is the epitome of minimalistic cool with its fresh and clean unisex citrus notes, Eternity, with its timeless floral essence evoking feelings of love and commitment, is the ideal romantic gift, while the warm, spicy allure of Obsession appeals to those who appreciate intense and dramatic fragrances.

Gucci has also reigned supreme with online shoppers, according to Jonny Webber at PerfumeDirect.com. “The brand’s iconic standout scents like Gucci Bloom and Guilty have driven significant sales, with shoppers favouring these scents over other lighter offerings. The shift highlights a growing preference for fragrances that make a statement—both in their scent profiles and as luxury gifts.

“Online searches reveal that Tom Ford, Dior Sauvage – although some are spelling it Savage!, Carolina Herrera Good Girl, and Thierry Mugler Alien are also topping the fragrance charts, highlighting the allure of high-end, statement-making scents as shoppers aim to impress with their gift-giving.”

This Christmas’ Celebrity Scent with Star Power is Sarah Jessica Parker’s iconic Lovely.

This year’s standout celebrity fragrance at Perfume Direct is Sarah Jessica Parker’s iconic Lovely. Capturing the essence of intimacy and femininity with its delicate composition—a blend of soft florals, fresh citruses, and warm musky undertones—it’s no surprise this elegant scent is still capturing the hearts of shoppers looking to gift a touch of Hollywood glamour.

Jonny added: “More than half of UK shoppers (53%) are buying for six people or more this Christmas, according to YouGov’s Christmas Gifting Consumer Report 2024, and we’re giving shoppers a helping hand in finding perfect presents at unbeatable prices.

“Our gift-wrapping service has also proved a huge hit this season, with many customers opting to add a luxurious finishing touch to make their purchases extra special. Those feeling inspired to do a little last-minute gift grabbing can order up to 20th December for guaranteed Christmas delivery.
