UK home, leisure and garden retailer, The Range has celebrated a significant milestone in its journey with the opening of 30 new format superstores across the UK and Republic of Ireland, following the acquisition of Homebase.

Among the latest additions to The Range are new store locations in Winchester, Balloo Park, Bangor (NI), Sligo and Drogheda (Republic of Ireland), each of which opens their doors on Friday 4th April, taking the business to 30 store openings since January.

As part of the acquisition, The Range has created significant job opportunities in local communities, with over 1,000 Homebase jobs saved.

The newly launched stores all offer The Range’s extensive product selection with Homebase’s trusted expertise to create a one-stop shop for all home and gardening needs. Customers can now shop for everything from plants and garden furniture to kitchens and home décor, something that wasn’t previously available in the former Homebase sites.

One of the standout features of the new stores is the integration of ‘Garden Centres by Homebase’, which have quickly become a favourite for gardening enthusiasts and homeowners, with plants, garden furniture, BBQs and popular items like the Artificial Olive Tree being consistently in high demand. The first ‘Garden Centres by Homebase’ have recently opened in Ireland, with new locations in Sligo, Drogheda and Bangor.

Customers can now also explore an expanded kitchen department in selected stores under ‘Kitchens by Homebase’, offering stylish, high-quality kitchen designs and accessories that cater to a variety of tastes and budgets. These additions have transformed The Range into the go-to destination for home renovation needs while still offering the retailer’s most-known products from home décor and cleaning, pet products and outdoor furniture.

The response from customers has been extremely positive since the openings, with many sharing their excitement on social media. Shoppers have praised the new store formats, saying ‘I was able to find everything I needed for my garden and more, really impressed’, ‘loving the new ‘Garden Centre by Homebase, my garden has never looked better’ and ‘The Range has completely changed how I shop for my home’.

The Range has introduced even more ways to shop, including a free Click & Collect service with delivery in just 60 minutes on a wide selection of items, making it even more convenient for customers to find everything they need, when they need it.

Alex Simpkin, CEO of CDS Superstores, trading as The Range, wilko and Homebase, said: “We’re so proud to celebrate the opening of 30 new format superstores. The expansion marks a significant milestone in our journey and allows us to offer an even more exciting shopping experience to our customers, with a wider selection of home improvement, gardening and kitchen products available under one roof at convenient locations across the UK and Republic of Ireland.

“We continue to look forward to welcoming shoppers into our stores and providing them with everything they need for their homes and gardens.”
