Newly single? Or know someone who is? As new research reveals two in five single Brits feel left out on Valentine’s Day (40%), Uber Eats and Love Cocoa are teaming up to help turn heartbreak into indulgence with the ultimate at-home self-care kit.
This Friday 14th February, Uber Eats customers in London can order the emergency ‘Break Up Box’ – a limited-edition care package packed with Love Cocoa treats delivered in as little as 30 minutes, designed to help singles focus on themselves and celebrate their freedom in the most delicious way possible.
Featuring a decadent chocolate heart and a hammer to smash past any yearning affections (or just for fun), the kit is all about self-love, empowerment, and, most importantly, chocolate. Whether you’re getting over an ex or embracing the single life, this therapeutic treat is here to turn heartbreak into indulgence.
The launch comes as new research from Uber Eats reveals almost a third of single Brits (30%) admit they feel pressure to be in a relationship around Valentine’s Day despite being happily single for the rest of the year.
And it seems single men are impacted the most, with almost a quarter (23%) claiming they say yes to more dates around Valentine’s Day, compared to just 15% of women.
Over two in five single Brits (43%) feel that interest in their love life dials up around Valentine’s Day, as friends and family offer unsolicited advice or even try and set them up on a date. It comes as no surprise then that almost a third (31%) report feeling self-conscious about not having a date or partner on the 14th.
What’s more, half of 18 to 27 year olds (51%) admit to taking a break from social media on or around Valentine’s Day to avoid couples content on their feeds, with 46% actually feeling the need to stay home so as to avoid seeing acts of PDA or receiving unsolicited relationship advice.
As over a quarter of this group (26%) expressed frustration at people wrongly assuming they’re sad or depressed about being single, Uber Eats and Love Cocoa want to help singles embrace alone time with the launch of the limited-edition Break Up Box.
James Cadbury, founder at Love Cocoa, added: “We know how hard Valentine’s Day can be for those newly out of a relationship, or those still looking for love after endless first dates, and we hope our Break Up Box provides some joy on an otherwise gloomy day for many.”
Alex Troughton, Regional General Manager of Grocery & Retail, EMEA & UK at Uber said: “Ahead of Valentine’s we’re delighted to announce, we’re exclusive with Love Cocoa. We’re thrilled to be offering their amazing chocolate on the Uber Eats app where they join some of the UK’s top retailers and supermarkets”.
The care package will be available to order from Uber Eats on Friday 14th February from 9:00am for just £14.95, while stocks last.
Love Cocoa’s full range of products will be available to order from Uber Eats from today with deliveries arriving to customers’ doors in around 30 mins.
